Controlling the VEX 2-Wire Motor 393

First note that this is the about the 2012 legal motor, p/n 276-2177.

I would presume that this motor is controlled with this controller, but are there other options? i.e. Can this motor be controlled with a Victor 884 as well?

How does one step down the voltage from 12V to 7.2V that the motor is specc'ed for?

We have a spot that's perfect for this motor and I'd really like to use it since we have 100's of other VEX parts sitting around.

My assumption is that you'd run it like a servo (ie with the servo 6v jumper installed).
