Material on robot question

okay so one of my members on my team told me to post this. He wants to know can you use a level (the construction tool using the bubble to balance) on your robot?

I don't see anything wrong with it, but I'd double check the manual.

There is no rule that I can think of for a simple bubble level. It must be securely fastened to the robot and it must be cost accounted in the BOM which you will show to your inspector during robot inspection. Official answers only come from the Q&A remember.

I agree with Al. Only thing I can think of is to mount it so there is no risk of the vial getting broken and leaking on the field or any risk of glass or plastic shards ending up on the field.

Just curious, are you going to point the camera at it?

Re: Material on robot question

If you intend to use the level to help balance your robot, you're probably better off using an accelerometer, which will provide essentially the same functionality in a small package that connects directly to your robot controller.
If you plan to use it in some other way... more power to you, and please share when the season is over!
