Labview error 7

Hello, a couple days ago my team was installing Labview FRC 2012 on all of our machines, and we have encountered a problem. Labview installed correctly on only 2 computers. The other two get "error #7" whenever we try to create a cRio robot project. If we open a project, we get a rt compactrio target error. I have reinstalled and repaired installations countless times, and I am even trying it on different computers to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Labview error 7

Error 7 is a file permissions error. "File not found" or access denied. I assume that you are installing from the USB key found in the KOP. Try copying the contents of the installer to your hard drive first, then reattempt the install.

Good luck.

I re-installed everything using your advice, and I still received an "error 7". Thank you for the help.

Make sure the LabVIEW Data directory is in the current user's Documents folder.

We got errors like that when trying to move a robot project from one computer to another where the user names did not match. There's a lot of folder name configuration in a LabVIEW project that needs to be redone if you're moving a project around.

Is there enough space on those computers' hard disks?

Re: Labview error 7

There is most definitely enough room. (100+gb).

When you create the project, have you tried different locations, or just the defaults? Can you try to save the project to somewhere like a USB stick?

I tried creating a project on a usb drive, and still got error 7. I will go to the shop today and do a complete reinstall.

YAY!!! I fixed it! Full reinstall using original labview disk. Thank you for all of the help.
