NI Software for FRC 2012
 

Did a quick search and couldn't find anything.


We have tried installing the new 2012 NI software (from the flat NI flash drive from this year's kit) with no success. We get errors during installation and those ultimately cause the install to fail. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

The one idea I can throw out is to try copying the installer files to your hard drive then installing from there. Beyond that it would probably be helpful to know what the error(s) are that you are getting.

We got a bad NI flash drive.

So we went down the street to another team and just copied another teams good NI flash drive to a portable hard drive.

Is there a team in your area that you can ping ?

The errors we are getting are something along the lines of a file not being found or not properly installing. We meet again on Saturday morning. I'll post a screen shot of the error then.

We had a similar problem. The heat of the laptop causes the usb key to change form making the internal contacts separate.

We squeezed the usb key, inserted it into the laptop and held it with fingers while
someone made a copy of all the files. It takes about 5 minutes to copy all the files.
