Frame Question

Rule R30 states that bumpers may not articulate. If the wheels and the frame contract at the end and the bumpers move with the frame, is it legal? All other bumper rules are met.

Re: Frame Question

The rules say the bumpers need to stay in the bumper zone. & be attached to a fixed frame perimeter. If your wheels, whatever move the fixed frame perimeter up & down, you should be OK as long as your bumpers stay in the bumper zone.

Re: Frame Question

When you say, "the wheels and the frame contract at the end", do you mean that your frame is changing shape and/or size? I think that's a violation right there, regardless of what the bumpers do.

Quote:

[R01-2]
The Robot must have a Frame Perimeter that is comprised of fixed, non-articulated structural elements of the Robot.
The Frame Perimeter must be fixed; it can't change size or shape.
