Updating the Dashboard While Using CAN bus Drive System

We are trying to update the dashboard while using a CAN bus drive system, but we do not know how the coding of the dashboard works. We are using java. Does anyone know of any code that can be used to send information to the driver station while using a CAN bus drive system?
