If you haven't before, you should read the history on the C language; it's pretty interesting given its tight connection to the history of Unix.

It turns out there is a programming language called A [2], but it has no relation to C given that it's descended from functional languages. C was descended from B, but there was no A as B was created as a minimal version of one called BCPL [1].

tl;dr if you program in your robot in A, I will be suitably impressed :p
