NEED HELP wiring Allen-Bradley Right Sight sensor
We are very confused at the moment...
It is in team 2403's plan to use the Allen-Bradley Right Sight light sensors to inventory how many basketballs we have stored. We have figured out exactly how to use them/how they work in various tests and have calibrated the sensors to our specifications. Unfortunately the sensors are not functioning properly with our robot. We have each light sensor wired into a digital input with the cables soldered together as follows: Sensor - Digital Input Cable White - White Brown - Red Blue - Black Black - Empty When we turn the robot on and launch autonomous the sensors do not light up like they did when we tested them - they don't light up at all. Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated. |
Re: NEED HELP wiring Allen-Bradley Right Sight sensor
The sensor output only outputs 5 volts. The sensors need at least a 12 volt nominal supply. You can ignore the 5 volts and go straight to the Power Distribution board, or a 24 volt solenoid breakout, as that provides a constant voltage, whereas the Power board tends to fluctuate.

Once you have wired up power properly, only the white (or black, your choice) wire needs to go to the DIO signal pin on the Digital Sidecar.

Re: NEED HELP wiring Allen-Bradley Right Sight sensor
Thank you, we tried splitting the cable into a digital input and direct power distribution and that worked.
