Re: End of week 4!
Our practice bot is done mechanically and Mae will work wonders tomorrow to make the thing move. All that's left for build team is to clone the practice bot to make the one that we will ship.
Hope that everyone is having a good time :) 100th post the day before my b-day... :D |
Re: End of week 4!
We're doing well, we were able to shoot the past two days and we did some barrier crossing today. We still have a lot of work to do with the controls and programming. We also need some tweaking to the mechanical systems.
Look at our build log for more information. |
Re: End of week 4!
Our prototype bot is built and driving, so all we have to do now is redesign all the problems out and build our final robots.

Re: End of week 4!
Team 166 is doing better time wise then the other 2 years Ive been on the team. We have our shooter assembled, or ball collector/storage done and mounted, drive-train has been done for a week, electrical board is almost done.
We are starting 3 hours early today so we can have the robot physically done and handed over to software either today or tomorrow. Oh... and YAY 166th post! ![]() |

We have slapped the shooter on top of the drives base both sides are negotiating where to put what so the robot will work at it's best. Time is growing short but I think everything is rounding into form. |
Re: End of week 4!
This year we built two robots. But they were fully designed and are being built together. They are the exact same that way. and now we have a practice robot.

Re: End of week 4!
2989...Feeling a bit out of sorts. I feel like we are behind...We are definately behind last years schedule...hopefully we can put in some hours this week and be ready to rock and roll next weekend...We had a few minor setbacks that need to be fixed and then we should be gooder to go. (I know gooder isn't a word)
Weight wise things are looking really good... Things seem like they are taking longer than they should... The crazy part is...nothing is put together at this point which has me really frustrated. Our frame is 1 leg short...Our drive train was all together, and got pulled apart in order to get married to the chassis, and somehow now the chains seam to have been miss placed...even had to spend a few hours cutting missing spacers!? Oh...and our dumper piston mount was welded on in the wrong place. (did I mention we switched classrooms last week?) Oh...and we can't seam to find any but one of our victors, one of our jaguars died, and the rest of them were loaned out and never returned last year. It will be OK...It will all work out...Breath.... |
Re: End of week 4!
Well at the end of week 4 Team 3997 (Screaming Chickens) just needs to finish up ramp mechanism and put on electronics and our robot is done. We are still testing camera tracking which is coming along very good.

Re: End of week 4!
Team 1939 is a little behind, we almost have all of our code compilled. Mechanical needs to step it up though as the ball collector/shooter is halfway done. We do have a driveable drive train though, so that is good.
Goodluck to other teams as we enter week 5! |
Re: End of week 4!
3397 has a drivable robot, a shooter that needs to be built, an elevator and ball intake that needs to be attached, and a bridge lowerer that needs to be designed. We cannot go over the bump due to how we placed our CIMs, and are feeling pretty good. ;)

Re: End of week 4!
Nothing wrong with screwing or bolting a machine together. The Linotype machine (incredibly complex) far predated practical welding.
