PsoC board issues

Every time i try to load the FRC_IO.2012.v3.hex file onto our PsoC3 Cy8ckit-003 i get an error. "The hex file was built for silicon revision es3,but the acquired device is revision **."
Anyone know a way to resolve this issue?

I had the same issue and worked my way through the referenced thread.

My "Take away" was this:

For some reason, the programmer that ships with the Driver Station, isn't able to program certain newer Cypress modules (We got one from Andymark) with the standard hex file.

However, you can't load the Updated Programmer from the Cypress disks into the Driver station because the drivers aren't compatible with the FRC DS software.

So, the solution that worked for me was:

1) Load the Cypress software onto a PC that you don't intend to use as a driver station (eg: my home desktop). Use this as your Cypress Programmer.

2) Copy the hex file (FRC_IO.2012.v3.hex) from your driver station to your Programming PC.

3) Follow the FIRST instructions for programming your new Cypress Module, but do it on your non-driver station PC.

It ran through perfectly for me using this approach.
My driver station was then able to see the cypress module with no problems.

Thanks everyone.
Phil.
