We absolutely will have a second robot. It will be derpy, it will be pneumaticisized, it will be the bridge bot of epic destruction. And it will arrive dissassembled in several crates. If anyone wants to help us with our soon to be ziptied bot, We could certainly use all the help we can, and access to some intense power tools.

So here is the plan - we still have the frame and the wheel assemblies intact. I think getting those installed is doable. We have the electronics parts but the students were very thorough taking apart the wiring harness - but it should be possible to wire the wheels up again. That would give us a mecanum-drive base to play with.

Our gatherer was a 4-side intake and vertical section that might take too long to reassemble - we can decide at the Brawl. The shooter is a simple 2-wheeled (on the same axle) hood on a turntable. The only thing still assembled are the shooter wheels. So the shooter is quite a job also and useless w/o the vertical part of the gatherer. And I could not find a 2nd camera last night!

The ramp-lowering device is intact and pretty easy to get attached and working.

The original bot never had pneumatics - what Brian refers to is an idea to add a stinger. It is possible but a bit of a long shot (to get done on Friday) and not possible (no weight limit left) if we decide to try and make the gatherer/shooter work.

The big thing we are missing are bumpers! We never made a second set of bumpers. I think we have 2 radios and 2 driver stations.

Conclusion: With some help we can have a nice mecanum-drive base with a ramp-lowering device put together on Friday. Its a fun little beast to drive! Plus (believe it or not) the base can get over the center barrier if necessary. Getting the gatherer and shooter to work again might be a tall order. We'll really need help with bumpers - I'm not sure if the old bumpers we have lying around are gonna work.

I mentioned to Brian that if you had one of your intakes working (not all 4), and your tower, you could feed balls in auto as well as ferry balls across the field in match play. You'd be fairly useful then :p

We have the bumpers from last year's robot, though they may not fit perfectly due to frame structure configuration, we could still manage a way to incorperate them onto our bot possibly

I've been told this is the webcast link setup by the DiscoBots, but I can't check on my phone.

Yes, the webcast works. I think it's being done from a laptop or phone. Not sure

Congratulations to Teams 1986, 1987 and 457 for being the Ozark Mountain Brawl Champions! And teams 148/149, 3481/3482, 3612 were the finalists. Thank you to all the teams who came from 5 different states to join us in Northwest Arkansas. I hope everyone had as great a time as our planning committee, volunteers and host teams 16 and 3612. Thank you to our generous sponsors: Baxter International, University of Arkansas College of Engineering, Springdale High School, and AR FIRST.

On behalf of the GearHogs, I would like to echo Meredith's appreciation for all those who participated in the 2012 Ozark Mountain Brawl. It meant a great deal to our team and the Northwest Arkansas area to have such fantastic teams represented at the event. As I've heard from numerous volunteers, the talent, passion and professionalism of this year's participants was undeniable. As you know, a majority of our volunteers were 'rookies' and I can't thank everyone enough for the respect you afforded them. I can assure you that we increased the number of people 'hooked' on FIRST and I'm optimistic that this will translate into exciting things in the future.

Best,
Chase

Okay... this post is about a week late, but I've been busy with personal things that tend to pile-up right before a competition...

A WEEK later, I still have a _smile_ on my face because of our participation at the 2012 Ozark Mountain Brawl !!

This was a FUN, well-run event... that just had a _great_ vibe to it...

We wish it could have gone on for another day... AND we _appreciate_ the opportunity to attend such a great event with TOP teams competing and hosted by _genuinely_ nice people...

WE WILL be back next year... ;-)

FRC Team 1477: Texas Torque had a great time at the Ozark Mountain Brawl. The event was well run and we enjoyed the team social Friday evening.

Congratulations to FRC Teams 1986, 1987, and 457 for winning. I had a pretty strong feeling going into the elimination rounds that our quarterfinal matches against you would be good and they didn't disappoint. You are very worthy champions. I wasn't able to watch many of the qualifying matches, but Team Titanium put on quite a show whenever I got to see them.

We are looking forward to coming back next year. Our second drive team got some experience with our drivebase from our practice robot. I doubt that will happen next year. I am sure there will be a waiting list for the Ozark Mountain Brawl in 2013.

There were definitely some mixed emotions when we rallied our way into 8th place and found ourselves against you rather than with you in eliminations. Curie all over again. Those quarterfinals proved to be the toughest round, we were fortunate to put up the higher scores then. Good to play with Texas Torque again, we are fans.
