WHich FP Product used the 00801-0673?

Does anyone know exactly which Fisher Price product used the 00801-0673 motor? I'm canvassing Fisher-Price Service Centers but they only identify motors by the product they are used on - weird.

TIA

I believe Fischer-Price makes a toy robotic spinning basketball shooter that these are used in. Check Toys R' Us. :D

Are you being facetious? Or serious?

Actually, the Toys R Us suggestion was a good one. The trick is to figure out which Power Wheels product has the FP motor in question!

Yes, that at least used to be where you'd find FP motors "in the wild".

I spent 2.5 hours trying to find a non AndyMark supplier, to no avail. :ahh: :ahh: :ahh:

I've tried other places also. I dropped by a FP repair depot and the guy offered to order me a motor but when we called his FP contact they said we can only order a motor for a specific product. FP does not stamp part numbers on their parts so their competitors do not know which motors they are using - weird. So that is why I am looking for anyone who knows what product included these motors.

After doing some digging I had found several references indicating it was from a "harley davidson motorcycle" PowerWheels toy. I called a couple repair depots but they would not sell the individual motors as FP has instructed them that it is only to be replaced by a certified repair depot.

Keith,

i ran into this problem with this particular motor back in 2002 (first time it appeared in FIRST), long before AndyMark and the pretty loose motor rules we have now.

Back then it was from the Harley Davidson three wheel motorcycle. I imagine it is from a similar type vehicle now. The motor manufacturer is Johnson Electric (not Mabuchi like many other Power Wheels motors), if that helps in your search.

I did a post on this forum and you can find it by typing in the 00801-0673 part number in the forum search. We obtained a lot of information back then.

A long time ago, Fisher Price sent a memo to the distributors that it was ok to sell Fisher Price motors to FIRST robotics team. Last time I tried to buy a fisher price motor (either 2007 or 2008) our local repair shops did not remember the memo (which was already pretty old by that point), but took my word and sold me the motors.

I went to a service center and they had hundreds of motors organized by the number of teeth on the pinion gears) but none of them had part numbers - hard to know what to buy.

I'm not sure why, but I'm getting this picture in my head of a bunch of engineers, huddled in deer blinds with 22's, waiting for the right power wheels toy to drive by.

Just did a quick eBay search for FP Harley ride-on bikes. The "Rocker" model uses a 6v battery, so I suspect this is not using our desired motor. However, the following listing, available for pick-up only in the Long Island NY area, uses a 12v battery:

<<http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-FISHER-PRICE-POWER-WHEELS-HARLEY-DAVIDSON-CRUISER-/230647819849?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b3ae 6e49>>

It's going for $250, however; a lot to gamble on for a POSSIBLY legal motor.

Also a lot to pay for a $15 motor! Not really worth the extra 100W...
