I would guess that the task of lifting yourself off the ground via that bar is going to be much more difficult than we all expect.

Does anyone remember what we all thought about driving over floppies at this point in the competition last year?

As I recall, the concensus opinion was that it is was going to (perhaps) cause some rookie teams some trouble, but that it wouldn't bother any of 'our' robust drive trains in the least!

How wrong we all were. I don't know of very many teams who didn't quake a bit at the thought of one of those silken bags-o-peanuts getting past the various counter-measures they hurriedly had to develop once they actually TRIED driving over them (Chief Delphi included by the way).

Bottom line, it was going to be easy as easy could be and it turned out to be much more of a big deal than we had originally thought.

I think that this pole hanging thing is going to be very much in the same catagory by the time it is all said and done.

I vote 1 out of 5.

Other opinions welcome.

Joe J.

P.S. Special note to Bill Beatty. I would appreciate your opinion on this matter perhaps more than any. Your position as a killer robot designer and as an honest broker this year (due to your red shirt status -- yeah, I count you as a red shirt, you'd be in the game if you weren't hurt bad -- don't even bother to deny it ;-)

P.P.S Special note to Mr.B (if you are still out there watching). For the same reasons, I look forward to your opinion as well.
