Wheel Treading

Team 3749 needs suggestions for treading our wheels. Any ideas?

The majority of FRC robots use Roughtop or Wedgetop conveyor belting as treads if they aren't using kit bot wheels. Examples are at the top of http://www.andymark.com/Performance-s/101.htm

The gives you about the best cooicent of friction you are likely to get.

It's a more robust version of the roughtop tread AM sells. You will need to cut it on a band saw though. We riveted this to our wheels.

If you do cut it on a band saw (assuming vertical here) I'd suggest clamping some sort of guide to the table to get a nice, straight cut.

Personally, I prefer a table saw for tread cutting, much easier to cut long straight strips out.
