Right, it's about time I asked for help.

Well, this is a bit embarrassing, but hey, this has stumped me for weeks now, and it looks like I've finally caved.

I'll keep this simple, and, well, specific for lack of a better word. So say I make, I dunno, a hat on an Iiko model. How do I connect the hat with the Iiko so it rotates with the head? I've tried selecting them both, combining the mesh, and, well, pretty much anything a newbie knows how to do. I assume I have to do a bit of rigging, but of course I have no idea what I'm doing when I attempt it.

...Also, I propose we have a General Simple Help thread or something, so us new guys can ask questions without feeling ashamed for starting an entirely new thread.

Simple. Use a constraint link on the same controller you use for the head :D I did that to add eye glasses to one of our iikos

Well, would you look at that, it worked. Sweet, sweet progress. Thank you very much.

Well, no need to drag this out too much, I suppose. Best of luck to all of you fellow animators out there. Hopefully you guys aren't nearly as behind as we are.

I have noticed that the shelf icon sticks and even though it has been removed, either by MMB dragging it into the trash, or by removing it with the Shelf Editor. It doesn’t go away until you force a redraw of the shelf by activating another shelf and then activating the custom shelf again.

If you’re really lost, you can always edit or delete the shelf_Custom.mel script. If you don’t know where to find that, the MEL command internalVar -userShelfDir; will tell you.
