As for the bolded above, my only answer is yes, you can. You can say here is our design, we worked hard on it, please don't steal it. While some people may not listen, IMO it's the respectful thing to do. If you post it online it is at your own risk, and like you said, if people do end up copying from your video, then you should feel complimented. On that, I will say you couldn't get too much design specifications from the video, so I don't think anything will get stolen.

BTW, that was a very nice example you made of 469's robot in 2010. Having been in Debate Class all through middle school, I appreciate a good and hard hitting example, and you hit the nail on the head.

Just so you know, in the "real" world companies copy each other all the time. For example, we work out of Chrysler. Whenever any new car comes out from another company Chrysler buys a bunch and reverse engineers them to see what they can steal and use to improve their own cars. In turn, the other companies do the same thing to them. This forces all car companies to continue innovating to stay competitive. It works the same way with FRC and similarly functions to make the league better as a whole. Now you may have your opinions, and that's fine. Simply understand that the engineering/business world does not share your views.

As to 33, we steal ideas all the time! Its part of how we try to improve ourselves.
2009: Exchanged entire top of robot for 67 look-alike double shooter.
2010: Changed to a double pincher roller.
2011: Changed to direct drive minibot and ramp launcher.
2012: Who knows?

Regards, Bryan
