Compressor question

My team just recently purchased the new model (Viair 00090-090C) for our robot this year and we noticed that not only is it different in size and power than the previous version, it also doesn't have the dual output ports on the compressor for the relief valve. So does that part still have to be mounted? or can it be replaced by a direct T-off to the dump valve from the compressor?

Re: Compressor question

Yes the relief valve is VERY necessary and a must. You can install a tee right off the compressor and pipe it up the way you have in past years.

Re: Compressor question

Yes install it in a T right after the check valve. Do not remove the check valve or the compressor may stall on start up. Congrats on the new compressor it is superior in every way to the old Thomas unit. Smaller foot print, less weight and better performance. I'd never let one of the Thomas units back on our robot.

Re: Compressor question

Make sure you read R75 - for the new compressor it has to be attached directly to a brass fitting (tee) which is connected to the compressor output port.
