Yes, I got the following error when I tried submitting two students for Dean's List awards:

An error occurred while processing your request.
Error Information

Error Message: Error in the "home" circuit fbx_Switch.inc file (or one of its components such as an included file or variable).
Error Code: -9948
Error: No tag, type or constant was defined under the name FIRST_user->current_invitations_objs_map.
Error Code: -10010

I was using TIMS fine at 10:15AM, sometime around 10:40 things went bad and I'm also blocked out.

Could they extend the deadline so teams can submit ?

We are having problems too!
I emailed webmaster@usfirst.org and firstteammembers@usfirst.org about the problem.

Yeah....what a mess. When it did let me in it told me I wasn't affiliated with any teams this year and I couldn't do a thing anyhow. then it wouldn't let me back in!

Photos and essay submitted, just needed to hit the SUBMIT button when it freaked!

Probably because 2000+ teams are submitting for 3 or 4 awards at exactly the same time.

I wish I could get away with that response with my boss and clients -- sorry, even though I'm here, I'm unavailable. Try again later. *SIGH* I just want to click 'submit' - not add to or take away from the submission! This is painful.:ahh:

Another team member and I experienced the same thing. I tried submitting at 8:55am PST and he tried submitting an award around 8:49am.

I'm about to send an e-mail to webmaster@usfirst.org and firstteammembers@usfirst.org in regards to this problem. Hopefully they give us an extension. :C

The problem is LOTS of teams were trying to submit their awards at the same time and the website crashed :L

Same things that happened to techedguy, lynca, topgun, and probably everyone else here happened to me. I had just selected the pictures. I wanted to click Save and then Sumbit. That's all that was left. But no such luck.

Has this happened in previous years at deadline? Have they extended it before because of technical issues like these?

So I was able to log into TIMS but when I went to submit the students for the Dean's List award, the website stated that this function was not open at this time :eek:

I'm going to be a little disapointed that I could not nominate my student for the Dean's List because I could not log into TIMS before the deadline.

Sorry for the late info, but I just learned that frcteams@usfirst.org is accepting emailed award submissions until 1pm EST (5 minutes from now).

Is anyone else seeing "(not open yet)" under the Dean's List option?

I had to teach a class right at 11:45, and was having technical issue with the submission at that time.

Still shows closed on TIMS. I don't know if I consider CD an official source of notification that they are accepting Dean's List nominations through email until 1:00 EST as posted four messages earlier.

We need to remember that this is more than just Dean's List. The other Awards (Chairman's, Website, WFA) also had the same deadline.

I don't want to be the bad guy here, but you should have expected this issue. I'm not saying that FIRST doesn't have to be responsible for server upkeep, but you are responsible for submitting your awards by noon on the specified day. This issue arose last year and members of this community (including myself) warned teams to get their entries in as early as you could on the deadline date.

FIRST servers aren't like FIRST teams. They fail under pressure. When every team tries to pull off the manual after kickoff, they fail. When everyone is checking match scores, they can fail. When everyone tries to register for CMP, they fail. No reason to expect they wouldn't fail here.

FIRST can easily not change this deadline, but you could have easily worked on it and turned it in at an earlier time. I've dealt with teachers and professors that are just as cutthroat over deadlines like this one, and these people do not represent a multinational organization like FIRST.

Sorry for the errors guys. Hope you got your stuff in or FIRST extends the deadline for those who didn't. Remember this as a lesson for next year.

Looks like the deadline is now Feb. 17th. I was able to login just now and finally submit my team's Dean's List candidates.

LOL yeah this happened in me too, I was kind of panicking, but I kept refreshing and going back one page. In eastern time, i made the mistake of trying to submit at 11:49 Eastern Time(I was in class, but we were doing research).

I got the same errors, and actually also internal server errors.

So yeah, lesson learned: submit early LOL.

Still though, since they extended the deadline by a day... -.-, i shouldve known this earlier
