Bumper Question

For the bumpers, we have a weird frame design that requires us to make an "L" shape with the wood of the bumpers. To connect these two pieces of wood, we used a metal 1/16" angle bar on the outside connected with nuts and bolts. We are wondering if this is legal because this means there is something between the outside edge of the wood and the pool noodles. Is this legal?

As long none of the angle or screws in the angle are more than 1/4" above the plywood around them, you should be fine. (1" - 3/4" plywood = 1/4")
