Team 256 presents: LeROY

After 6 weeks of hard work and doing the math, Team 256 has completed its robot for the 2012 season.

Unveil video here.

Yes, we do have bumpers. They weren't on at the time of filming.

Robot Specs:

-Speed of 9.27 fps
-Can score on top and middle hoops, though has a preference for middle hoops
-50" tall, 27"x37" wide frame
-4, 4" plaction wheels spread for optimal sturdiness and bridge balance
-"Finger" ball intake allows ball pick up from either side, at any speed
-Polycord ball elevator allows for storage of up to 3 balls
-2 wheeled shooter powered by Banebots 775's makes full court shots
-Articulating shooter can change the angle of the shot anywhere from vertical to horizontal
-Bridge manipulator allows for quick bridge actuation and crossing
-Wide robot configuration makes optimal bridge balancing with other robots

Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Do you mean either side? It appears you have an opening for ball intake on what would be the front and back of the bot but not on the right and left side. And if you could, describe the functionality of this "finger" intake, couldn't watch the video at the moment.

They are multiple hose pieces curled a bit inwards. They allow us to pick up balls no matter what speed they come in.

I changed it to either. Thanks for the heads up!

Which motor did you use for the bridge controller?

I think it's a window motor. I'll ask our mechanical captain for clarification.

I was wrong. It's a Van Door motor, geared for the maximum amount of torque possible. Hope that helps!

Looks good I'll make sure to keep an eye out for it on the webcasts. I'm digging the halo music too.

Thanks! We're currently using a window motor and it's just too weak to be able to do what we want :ahh:
