It is painful to think that there are only 5 CMP qualification slots that can be filled by veterans at this event. There are FAR more than 5 deserving teams still waiting to punch their tickets!

At least you gave, we the waitlisted teams some hope by double qualifying already. No matter how you look at it deserving teams will be on the outside looking in this year.

Best of luck to many of our friends competing this weekend in CT. I will not be there in person (supporting my hometown team by volunteering at the Mt Olive District). I will be following the action closely and hoping our friends on 2168, 177 and others can punch their ticket to St. Louis.

Who else is liking the 12x12 pit areas and the wide aisles this year? Make sure you let the organizers know your appreciation.

I likewise hope you're having fun and are successful tomorrow and Saturday. I've been impressed by the variety of machinery and mechanisms in use for this game. You all need to take a little time to stop and scan your neighbors' creations. You never can tell whence cometh inspiration for your next years' robots.

Holy Moly! This is destined to be epic. The CT regional has taken advantage of "no crates" and expanded the pit + 10 qual rounds for 64 teams + Potentially the toughest field of contenders + the majority of teams having played one or two competitions already+the easiest city/venue to get in and out of (imho) = epic.

To all teams and coaches I talked to on Thursday, everyone has been the very best in GP. I'm thrilled just to be here.

Now, it's 6:30 AM, let's go!

Great level of play at this regional, some of the most consistently good qualification matches I've seen.

It's also nice to see some teams having progressed a lot since I last saw them at WPI.

Although I'm not sure what's happening with 228, they seem to not have had their shooter calibration right so far.

We've been having a little problem with the balls being very used and worn. Our shooter seems to like newer, firmer balls. The less dense, used balls like to go wherever they please. It's unfortunate that we've had to use all the used balls from Boston so far. Oh well! Tomorrow will be a better day though! I'm hoping to see a bunch of triples, and be involved with a couple ourselves! Good luck to everyone competing tomorrow, it's sure to be an amazing day!

Sorry Gus, the Boston & NYC regionals left us with less than optimum supply of new balls. We have been weeding out the heavily scarred & gouged balls. Tomorrow morning will be just lightly scuffed balls & new ones for the eliminations. This field has already taken a beating prior to us getting it. We will do our best to make a stellar competition tomorrow. I hope I can help out. Just come to me & ask away & we shall do our best. Best of luck to all teams for tomorrow.

It's quite alright, we all understand it's not your fault! It just means we'll really come alive for Elims! :D You guys always do an outstanding job with CTR, it's by far my favorite regional that we've competed at, and not just because it's our home court! Keep up the good work!

Well yesterday was a bit depressing for Devil tech. We expected to be in the top rankings but managed to end up close to the bottom. it wasnt the robots fault... Just poor strategy.

We have three more matches today, look out for us... We may be RANKED low but we can offer quite a bit.
<shameless pitch> to Anyone interested in a wide bot that can do everything the game requires: stop over at our pits and lets talk! </shameless pitch>

Good luck everyone, there are some amazing teams at this regional!

Falcons and Robonauts, Bobcats and Gus, Cyberknights and 181, these elims are looking very interesting indeed.

Well at least the foot's working well. Nice triple there by the 2nd seed 228/177/236.

EDIT:

Both 177 and 118 died in consecutive matches as part of the red alliance. I wasn't observant enough to notice whether it was the same station, but is there going to be a replay, or is 177/228/236 out?

118's out and according to their twitter it doesn't seem to be FMS. So some semi upsets and really bad luck to some teams there. Disabled robots is never what you want to see.

195/181/20 [3rd seed] vs 2067/1071/558 [5th seed].

The 3rd seed has had a perfect auto so far, I think they might take this, but it should be close. I don't think either triples, or has successfully. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Good luck to both alliances! Hope it's an exciting one.
