Wildstang 2012

Introducing Wildstang's 2012 robot.

Since we had a lot of fun taking the photos, and had a really hard time picking which ones to post, we thought we'd just link to the best of the rest for you all.

That looks pretty darned sexy, if I do say so myself. I love that bottom picture, as well as the rest of the mysterious-hazy-underglow lighted pictures :)

You do know it's not good to smoke the motors that much right?

I can't wait to see it in action.

This bot makes me more curious than others have.. where's your CG? High CG and grippy wheels is just asking for trouble..

Then again, you're Wildstang. I'm sure you've accounted for it. Great bot.

It's Wildstang. It probably negates CG with some hidden anti-gravity device the Men in Tie-Die gave them to test out on the robot to use in the field afterwards.

after 2004, I am sure they already accounted for that.

I can't believe i am asking this, i mean this is wildstang, but do you think the bumpers follow r31? Corners should be filled shouldn't they?

No exterior vertices of the metal are shown, so it's legal.

If you look closely, there's a vertical pool noodle on the front right corner of the first picture.

Can't wait to see the webcasts!

Wildstang,

I want to thank you guys for all you have done for me. Your robots alone are an inspiration to me and are one of the main reasons I am involved in FIRST. Every year I look forward to seeing robots like yours.

Thank you for inspiring me, and many others!

It took me a while to realize that I was staring at a ball catcher and not some kind of crazy articulating ramp. Thanks for posting! This robot looks awesome, and I can't wait to see some match videos of it catching and shooting during the season.

Our robots look very similar minus the front ramp appendage.
I just hope we perform just as close to this machine.

I'll also point out that this robot is a long (38"l x 28"w) robot... I have seen quite few tippy 38x28" robots that are shorter than 60" (at the time). This robot seems to be <48", doesn't look to have much weight up high, and was designed by 111.

I imagine this machine would need to be rolled back at least 45deg to start tipping...

Reminds me of my old Erector set even more so than most robots :P

Looks lovely!

Out of curiosity, how low are the bumpers at the bottom? And how well does that outside roller work? any specs on it?
