Kinect Gesture Programming

The default server code lets the kinect sense the angle from shoulder to wrist. This is mapped to the Y-axis of the joystick.

I'm trying to get the kinect to recognize a gesture in which the driver brings his arms forward. Is this motion in the YZ plane or XZ plane because when I try doing the YZ plane it doens't work properly, and there is no code to measure angle in the XZ plane.

Re: Kinect Gesture Programming

I'm pretty sure the coordinate space has Z being toward-and-away from the Kinect, X being side-to-side, and Y being up/down. Make sure that some late code isn't zero-ing the axis if the arm is not in a particular plane -- as a safety mechanism.
