Configuration needed when using a non-Classmate laptop?

Hey. this year we had problems with our Classmate, so we installed all the required software on a regular laptop. (Everything from the memory stick given at the kickoff)

I remember last year we had to configure all kinds of different users (Driver, Developer...) on the computer so it can communicate with the FMS. however, I've checked this PDF and it doesn't mention any of this sort. Is there any need this year for specific User names or any other special configuration?

Thanks.

The FMS is not checking the account name this year. You shouldn't have to worry about anything besides running the Driver Station program and keeping any firewalls out of its way.

It actually does.

The 2012 FRC Driver Station does not require a user login named “Driver” to link to the Field Management System (FMS).
