Hosting an event

Hey,
Does anybody know some good info about hosting a F.I.R.S.T event. Our team is planing to do one as a post-season. If anyone has ideas or examples that we can use it would be a big help.

The first step you want to do is prevent overlap. Make sure there aren't any other offseason events around you for +/- 2 weeks. Another thing, make sure teams will come. Hand out invitations at your local regional, and if you know of another offseason event, ask the teams who host that for some help.

Learn from the masters and the wannabes.
Visit as many competitions as you can - FRC, FTC, FLL, VRC, official, offseason, whatever.
There are lots of offseasons out there already, we can always use more. Get in touch with those that run the current events, see what they feel they do well and what they feel they can improve.
Get in touch with FIRST; let them know and see how they can help.
