2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
Tomorrow marks one week until Day 0. I'm excited for the 4th MAR event. Should be a great competition. Plenty of great teams to make for a nice, competitive event. I hear the venue is great, and so far MAR events have been awesome and well-organized.

Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
I know 433 is really excited to be competing at Lenape :D
Chesnut Hill last week was awesome, so Lenape can't come soon enough. It looks like a great group of teams are coming. I wish I could personally be there but I'm already back at school :( so I'll ask now, does anyone know if Lenape is going to be webcasted? ~Hannah |

I'm really looking forward to the event guys! Even though I had planned on coming back and helping out, unfortunately I can't because of the work that's going on to prepare for our next competition. I will see all of you at Champs though!
Good luck to all the teams attending! |

We're also looking forward to this event. It's bound to be great with all of the combined planning efforts of the volunteers and District.
Best of luck to everyone in competing this weekend! |
Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
What a great event. Lots of teams that I have a lot of respect for in this list.
Come on 365 and 103. MOE - can you please come back to Chesapeake? We missed you greatly this year! CyberSonics - It has also been a while since you have made an appearance at Chesapeake. Another team that our team strives to become like. Good luck to all teams! If there is a webcast available, I will be watching |

Sorry we missed Baltimore this year. We'll see what next year brings. Why don't you guys come out to the Duel on the Delaware in October! Almost like Chesapeake except less teams, no Inner Harbor, and less crabs! |

Wow! That was a nice event! All the matches ran smoothly and were AHEAD of schedule for the most part.
I had (am having :) ) fun! Thanks 1647 |
Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
Another thank you to 1647 and 2729, the organizers of this event. Great venue, great teams, and great that we were ahead of schedule all day.
Looking forward to another day like this tomorrow. Thanks everyone! The best to all competitors tomorrow. |

Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
Congratulations to 365, 2590, and 816 on the District Win.
The elimination rounds were really fun to watch, even from Blacksburg. Edit: Congratulations to 433 on winning the Engineering Inspiration Award! And an even bigger congratulations to 2590 for earning the District Chairman's Award. You guys are truly an inspiration! |
Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
Just returned home a few minutes ago. Exhausted and mentally drained, but it was quite a weekend.
On behalf of myself and 1712 I would like to thank and congratulate the following: Thank you to our alliance partners 1089 and 25. It's always a pleasure to work with Team Mercury. Both in the eliminations last year in DC when I was a surrogate member of 116 and this year with 1712. You guys are a class act. Raider Robotics has always been a source of inspiration for Dawgma's designs and we have tremendous respect for you guys, your program, and your robots. It was awesome to work with you guys and we really hope we get the opportunity to do so again in the future. The results were obviously not what any of us wanted, and we're all beating ourselves up in hindsight. We're sorry that we weren't able to execute the designed strategy, but sometimes things go awry. I'd love to be able to do it all over again sometime. Best of luck at your next event. To our quarterfinal opponents (2191, 1391, and 1370). You guys did an excellent job executing your strategy and throwing us off of our game. You truly deserve an immense amount of credit. You were not an alliance to be taken lightly. To the champions (365, 2590, 816), it was a thrill to play with and against you guys throughout the weekend, and no alliance was able to execute as well top to bottom as you three. Even when things went wrong, you still managed to find a way to win. It felt a little weird not being against MOE or with Anamoly in the quarter-finals after the past few years, but given our interactions in the past we couldn't be more thrilled that you guys took home gold medals. Especially to 2590, who managed to win Chairman's as well. After seeing and interacting with you guys last year, I knew you were going to be a team to watch in the MAR region. And you went far beyond that this year. Congratulations on back-to-back wins and a district chairman's award. It's great to see a new rising force in the region. To our friends, 272. Pity we didn't get a match together as alliance partners this weekend, but it was great to see you guys again. Wish we could have paired up in eliminations again, but we're kind of glad we got a year off from facing MOE in the quarterfinals. ;) To the event hosts, 1647 and 2729. Both of your teams are incredible and something special is going on in the Lenape region. You did an excellent job running the event, and it's definitely one we hope to attend again in the future. Of course, thanks to all the volunteers and event staff for making it a great weekend. To Carol Perrotto, sorry if one comment I made after our last qualification match came out the wrong way. When I said "did you see..." I wasn't intending to question your (or any of the ref crew's) ability. I don't think you took it the wrong way, but it's been bugging me since. I'm always pleased to see you as a member of the ref crew at any event I attend, since I know it will be a well officiated event. |
Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
Thanks to all the teams who came out to the Lenape District Event!
Especially to our alliance partners teams 316 and 272, we all did our best! And congrats to the winners! Everyone is so relieved that the event went as well as it did. I will make sure all the people who helped this event run as smooth as it did know that you all enjoyed it. :D Additionally, I know that slips were given out to all the teams in the pits to collect comments on the event. If anyone wants to give any other feedback, positive or negative, it would be greatly appreciated as we would like to host another event if possible. Everyone rocked this weekend! Yet, I have a feeling I need to sleep for a week now :P |
Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
To Puzio and 1647,
I don't recall seeing any slip in our pits, but I have to say you guys did a great job, and once the ball was rolling, it went incredibly smoothly. I had a tremendous time, and the teams all seemed excited and energetic. It's fantastic to see home-grown talent helping run these events -- I feel it has the potential to make our community stronger. There were some individual glitches that threw us for a loop for a bit, in inspection and with our initial set-up, but that sort of thing could happen at ANY event, and while I got more upset about it than I should have, it was very minor. Apologies to anyone that I may have offended (Particularly Brian L and Chris N). Only suggestion I would have made is to have a broader selection of food, but I left fed and happy, so it's only a minor detail. And now to the rest, To our alliance partners, 25 and 1712, it was a thrill to be with you guys, and I wish we could've "figured it out". It was a great experience, though, and nothing but love and respect for your teams. Two years in a row playing with a Lavery team! :P I want to also personally give a huge digital high-five to teams 2180 and 2191 -- you guys have come a long way, too, and was thrilled to see how well you did. It makes me smile to see our neighbors do so great! I'd mention 2590, but I made a whole thread for them.. All I have to say is -- holy crap, they took home ALL THE THINGS. Also kudos to 365 and 816 for winning with 2590, and to 433 for EI! |

All I know is that people kept bringing them to our pit and handing them to us. That is why I was wondering what people were thinking. Not everyone may have gotten to input. |
Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
Sean - no problem at all; I understood perfectly what you meant. And thanks for the nice words - Dawgma is one of the nicest teams around and I always love seeing them on the field!

Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
Great inaugural Lenape FIRST Robotics MAR District Event!
Thanks to the following: 1647 and 2729 for being excellent and gracious hosts. Seneca HS is a great venue for an event like this! All volunteers - MAR district events would not be possible without the support and efforts of volunteers at all levels. MAR Board and organization - I know many people have been working hard for a long time to make this distict competition season successful. Thanks to all of you for your hard work. Teams 2590 and 816 - a truly terrific alliance. We did what we needed to do and came to each other's aid when called upon. Thanks for being our partners! 2590 - Double congrats for winning the Chairman's Award. Well deserved! All the best at the MAR Championship. 433 - Congratulations on your Engineering Inspiration Award! You do so much for so many! For those competing at Mt Olive, all the best! For those who qualify for MAR Champs and will attend Temple, see you there! Thanks again to everyone who made the past weekend special. |
Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
1647 - One couldn't ask for a better sister team and group of individuals to lead the charge in planning and executing the District event. Before leaving breakdown last night, I told Mr. D and Dr. Jones that no one could do it better. Even with Seneca not being the home of team 2729, it still felt like it!
To all attending teams - Thank you for bringing FIRST to the LRHSD and our community. The best quote from a reporter who had never seen FRC before was, "I can't stop smiling!" That says a lot about the enthusiasm, character, and sportsmanship you all brought. Thank you for helping spread the bug here in Burlington County. 87 and 1640 - You were great partners and it really seemed like we had great chemistry. Of course its tough to not achieve our goals but I think we learned a lot about how our can work with each other. 87, it brought back some fond student and mentoring memories! 365 - You all are a class act While I didn't get to participate much in the stands, I loved seeing the spirit and enthusiasm shared between our two teams over the course of the weekend Congrats to all of the event winners; 365, 2590, and 816. You were a fun alliance to watch throughout the playoffs. 2590 - It's inspiring to a fellow >2000 team to see that a Chairman's Award can be achieved in such a short amount time. Congrats and good luck at the region championship! Best of luck to all M.A.R. teams as we look to close out the qualification tournaments this weekend! |
Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
To add to the goodwill toward 1647 and 2729, you should know that our bus driver on each day (different drivers on both days) came to our event, and quickly invited their husband/fiancee and had a ball at the event. They toured the pits, sat with the students, cheered everyone on, and loved talking with the kids.
Usually when we get onto the bus, the driver asks us how we did. These two days, they told us how amazing a time they had and how they were proud of our students. The attention to detail of the volunteers and hosts was well appreciated (I *LOVED* the pit signs that were colored for each team, it was incredibly thoughtful!!!), and between that and all of the teams in attendance, this is one of the most fun events that *I* have ever been to. Additionally, I had the honor of sitting with Senator Linda Greenstein to walk her through the game, and even though she had other obligations and couldn't come until late, she was incredibly enthusiastic and positive. Once again, I cannot say enough good things about this event from my own perspective. Fantastic job! |
Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
I haven't really had time to put together my thought and congratulations for the event yet, but one of the parents for our team forwarded this link for a newspaper article about the Lenape event...

Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
Like William, I to haven't really had time to put together my thoughts and congratulations for the event yet. I did want to let everyone know that the team pictures taken during award cerimonies are posted online for anyone who wants to review or take them. There are additional photos that will be available this weekend but the award photos are there now.
They can be found at http://www.mistylens.com/robots |
Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
Huge congratulations to 1647 and 2729! Even after attending the first two weeks of districts, this event was truly impressive. Fantastic job to you, the MAR Board, and all the volunteers!
To 87 and 2729; thank you so much for selecting us to be a part of your wonderful alliance. I'm sorry we got cut short so quickly, but I am still proud to have played beside you and look forward to hopefully seeing you in Philly. Also my personal thanks to Nate; you are an inspirational guy and an amazing coach to learn from and play beside. Best of luck with Woodie Flowers for Philly! Congrats again to 365, 2590, and 816 on your win. To MOE especially, we always love being at the same events, even if we didn't get a chance to play together this time. Better luck a Philly, then! Also 2590, you guys were amazing at this event. I didn't really know you before, but trust that you really left an impression at this event. And many congratulations on Chairman's! |

Re: 2012 Mid-Atlantic Robotics - Lenape FIRST Robotics District Competition
Sorry this is a little late, but I finally caught up with everything that I needed to before I had enough time to do this, so here it goes...
Firstly, I would like to thank teams 1647 and 2729 and the whole MAR Committee for hosting such a great event!!! It was well run and I have no complaints what so ever... It takes alot of hardwork and dedication to create an event that well organized!! Next, 2590... WOW!!! I am so happy for you guys Chairman's, Winner, and Website--that is an awesome package!!! 365, 2590, and 816, you guys were an insuperable alliance and proved that in the semis against us!!! 365, you guys evened up the score1-1, so now we go to Temple and settle the score :) !!! 103- You were high on our list and we were so happy to pick you guys!!! Your robot was amazing and there was nothing I would change about the way we played!! Congrats on the Judges Award as well!! 3974- You guys blew me away... I would have never expected a rookie to be so award winning and competitive. I was surprised you were still available to pick when it came around to our 2nd pick!!! 2191- You guys were so close to winning it all.... You were great and seeing our sister school being the #8 seed and taking down #1 and making it all the way to the finals was amazing... Wish we could've been there with you!!! Hope to see you all at Temple!!! And finally 1089!!! Thanks, we've come a long way in our short six year history!! Well, now that our 2 districts are over, Guppy is getting some well deserved rest before the MAR Championship!! I hope to see everyone there!!! |
