Sweet robot yet again, Beach Bots!

Looks like a pure layup bot? What's the reasoning behind the bumper-less sections on the sides?

Good luck today and tomorrow!

While the arm does make fender shots into the top goal easy, we wouldn't call it Skyhook if we couldn't shoot from farther ;)

It was for a device that does not attach or grasp the bridge, but by certain people's definitions, grapples the bridge.

Thank you to FRC1647, FRC131, and FRC973 for using the Q/A system to attempt clarify GDC's intent. Thanks to the Robonauts for so eloquently stating their case.

The missing bumper section is clearly there to showcase that this bot has got some major UPs.

Wiki: "Sky hookThe hook shot became a trademark of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the National Basketball Association's all-time leading scorer, who was proficient at the shot at a much greater distance from the basket than most players. The greater distance and resulting higher arc on the shot led to the name sky hook, which was coined during Abdul-Jabbar's tenure with the Milwaukee Bucks and came from the team's radio announcer, Eddie Doucette, who felt that "that hook was so high that it was coming out of the sky".[1] Blocking the 7-foot, 2-inch center's sky hook was a rare feat, accomplished by few players.

Magic Johnson used a similar shooting technique during the 1987 NBA Finals, which he called his "baby hook" in reference to teammate Abdul-Jabbar.[2]"

I believe Kareem's number was 33, so a 330 Sky Hook seems very fitting.

The more I look at this robot, the more things I find a really like. I can't wait to see it in action.

Since we can't ship the robots any more, we had to figure out a new way to get to Madera, and the robot chose to fly. http://youtu.be/fkWfSADUAtA

Today, the Barrier. Tomorrow, Tejon Pass!

There is less turbulence if you are 1020 (team numbers) higher. 12 inch pneumatics might be a bit bouncy, but they get air off the bump, the landing is incredibly smooth too. Take offs vary:( .

Nice Robot. Good luck.
