Northville District
548 was busy yesterday setting up the field and using the last of our unbag time. We're ready and excited to compete at our highschool, who else is coming?

Re: Northville District
can't wait for tomorrow!

Re: Northville District
470 is stoked to be there, it's our first competition with our shooter on, and we're really hoping to take the field by storm.

Re: Northville District
Just a taste of what's to come:

Re: Northville District
Great!
Can you prevent it from being a 6 or 7 ball auton, should there be more basketballs on the bridge? I think your collector can take only 3 basketballs, right? |
Re: Northville District
Correct, only fits up to 3

Re: Northville District
Very nice. As if 67 needed more scoring power this year. You guys are looking very good this year. I cant wait to see it up close next weekend at Troy. Congratulations on your win at Northville.

Re: Northville District
Just wanted to shoot out a couple of thank yous. First our alliance members 67 and 3656. Easiest triple balances I have seen yet. 67 your design and execution are flawless thanks for picking us. 3656 how were you still there at 24? Good Auton and robot that fit the game plan perfectly!
Finally special thanks to 830 the Rat Pack. They had more volunteers and stayed later after the competition to help tear down and clean up. Thanks for helping me get home before sunday! |
Re: Northville District
I wanted to echo Brendan's sentiments. Thank you to all of the teams for a great competition, and to all of our dedicated volunteers for making this such a smoothly run event! On behalf of the entire planning committee, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Re: Northville District
Great event! We would like to give a big thanks to 573 for the selection! We gave it a good fight but I seriously doubt anybody will ever beat Team 67!! That was loads of fun!

Re: Northville District
Great event! Shout out to 4294 for the pick and 3535 for accepting the invite! Congrats to Robostangs for walking off with district chairmans for the 3rd year in a row!
Now if we can only make it into Troy... (1st on the wait list.) |
Re: Northville District
Just wanted to say thank you to all the volunteers and Northville High School for making this another great FiM event. This was a perfect venue, incredible high school, large pits, large arena, plenty of stands, etc...
548 - Our sometimes machine shop mates. We obviously had some prior knowledge about your robot since we saw it before the competition season started. We continued to put tests out there and ask questions about your robot. Through out the entire weekend you guys answered every one. Score consistently in Hybrid...check. Score over defense...check. Triple Balance with us...check. Put down the bridge...check. You guys were awesome to work with. I'm very happy we finally got to play with you. Congratulations on winning another Chairman's award too. What an awesome weekend to be a RoboStang. 3656 - We had you guys pretty high up on our list. We got a little worried during that run on "wide bots" during alliance selection. Luckily we were able to get such a great alliance partner. You did every thing we asked of you. I am sure your machine was capable of so much more if we needed it. An excellent second year team. I will look forward to seeing 3656 continue to improve in the future. 66, 308, and 703 - You guys were tenacious...defeating both the #2 and #3 alliances. 703's defense was intense. We have some battle scars (skid marks, torn bumpers, scrapped up lexan and vinyl from trying to get into position to triple balance. Congrats on being Finalists. Thanks to anyone else who commented about or team or our robot. You all had such great things to say about us, most of the time I didn't even know what to say. |

For anyone that couldn't make it out to the event, we posted the Elimination matches on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/firstinmichigan
(We are working on getting the qualification matches up but it might take some time.) Congrats to 67, 548, 3656 your alliance made the triple balance look easy, even with a long bot (548). 66, 308, 703 you brought your A game to both the quarterfinals and semi-finals and played extremely great defense, preventing us from getting any form of a balance on our alliance bridge. Thank you 1684 and 1502, both played exceptional in the eliminations. One of the most exciting parts of the weekend was pulling off the triple balance in Semi-Finals Match 2-2. For the record it was 2 long bots and 1 wide bot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3p0aiLfUM1k We are proudly sporting our Loch Ness Monster on our tribute plaque. Thanks to 67. Finally Congratulations to 548 on being such a great host and on winning Chairmans, it is well deserved. -Clinton- Team 2337 |
Re: Northville District
67, 548, and 3656 - It was great to play against you guys in the finals, and congrats on the win. Looking forward to seeing 67 and 548 again at Troy this weekend. 548 you put on a great event and hopefully we can do it again next year.
2337, 1684 and 1502 - I knew we had our work cut out for us when I watched you triple balance on the practice field before eliminations. It was fun to be on the other side of the field from 2337 this year. I know how intense Clinton can get from 2010 and 2011 at Skyline :D To 308 and 703, you guys are awesome, and I hope to see you at State's in a couple of weeks. It was fun to get the 66-308 "Flying Monsters" back together for an afternoon (should have brought our "collector's edition shirts from Atlanta two years ago). |
Re: Northville District
A big "thank you" to all the volunteers who had Northville District running so smoothly. I was glad to join you, even in an ancillary role. It was a pleasure to volunteer for the first time.
Speaking of which, here are the Northville District Photos from Friday: https://picasaweb.google.com/1141670...eat=directlink. They are freely available for personal or non-profit use, though I request that you do not edit them and you'll have to talk to me about any other potential usage. Enjoy! :) |
