How many different awards has your team won?
So this past weekend our team earned a couple of new awards. So after 12 years, at the regional level, we have now won 10 different team awards (Finalist, Quality, Industrial Design, Safety, Entrepreneurship, Excellence in Engineering (aka.. driving tomorrow's technology), Gracious Professionalism, Imagery, Judges, and Website. The point of the thread isn't to brag, if anything I am frustrated of winning every type of award except for one of the big three... CA, EI, or Regional Winner. We clearly have more work to do.
But I'm curious, are there any teams out there have earned all the 17 possible regional awards (or more if you count rookie awards)? How many different awards has your team acquired? I know this is somewhat a function of how long a team has been around. Also some of the awards have changed over the years and I'm not really thinking about awards at Championships or individual awards like WFFA or Dean's list. |

For 1124 over 10 years:
- Regional Chairmans Award (2010) - CMP Division Winner/Einstein Semifinalist (2008) - CMP Division Finalist (2007) - Winners, CT Regional (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010) - Rookie All-Star (2003) - Rockwell Automation Innovation in Control (2007, 2009, 2010) - Delphi Engineering Excellence Award (2010) - Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Entrepreneurship Award (2008) - Best Website (2011) - Dean's List (2010) - Coopertition Award (2010) That's 6 banners, but only two in my time - we've got some magic to recapture (nothing a little hard work won't fix) |

Re: How many different awards has your team won?
We've been fortunate enough to win the big 3, in addition to having our name called at Champs in 2010 as a division finalist and "world" innovation in control award winner. I did notice that sometimes when you win an award at one regional it seems like it increases the likelihood of getting that same award at the scond regional that same year.
Regional Chairman's Award (2009) Engineering Inspiration (2012, 2011) Regional Winner (2012, 2011, 2010) Division Finalist (2010) Regional Finalist (2008) Engineering Excellence (2012) Website (2011) Industrial Design (2011) Innovation in Control (2008, 2010) Imagery (2009) |
Re: How many different awards has your team won?
Team 45 has been around since the beginning. I count about 25 different awards listed on the team's FIRST page, including a couple of oddball ones like "Outstanding Defense" and "Chairman's Award Finalist". (There are also a few dozen peer awards in our trophy cabinet from other teams at FRC events, such as "best pit" and "awesome arm".)

This year the students really stepped up their game in presenting to judges, but still came up short at our regionals. There's always champs... |

116 has a distinct honor of being one of very few teams to win an award at a regional they didn't attend, the Autodesk Visualization Award at the 2003 Lone Star regional. In 2003, the AVA was submitted into grouping of 5 regionals (one each week of the season), and each regional gave out an award regardless of whether or not the team was actually in attendance.

Wow, I thought about going through the team list and seeing for myself the different awards folks have won - but clearly that would take a while. Maybe I should rephrase the original question... For those that have won many different awards, which current awards are you still missing from your collection? If you say finalist but your team has a regional win, then that's just not fair! Ok I'll start... 701 still has yet to win these 7 team awards..

We also have yet to win the Galileo division at championships. Also, I typically prefer to say that we "earned" an award rather than saying that we "won" one. I feel it just acknowledges the hard work of the team(s)/people involved that way. |
Re: How many different awards has your team won?
Team 103 has a total of 93 awards proudly displayed in their showcase. There are 79 FIRST official awards and 14 off-season event awards. The most awards won in one season by 103 was 12 and that was in 2003.
Awards missing from the showcase (and this includes awards only won on a national level) are volunteer of year, imagery, creativity, engineering excellence, gracious professionalism, coopertition, deans list, and National Autodesk award for animation. |

Championship divisions didn't exist until 2001. You have the honor of being the last team to win the championship before divisions. Similarly 45 is the last team to win a championship before allainces (1998). 25 is in a 5-way tie for 3rd with most Einstein appearances with 71, 111, 233, and 254 which is good company to be in. |

Re: How many different awards has your team won?
For 1126, at the regional level:
Regional Winners Regional Finalists Judges' Award RadioShack Innovation in Control Award Rockwell Automation Innovation in Control Award General Motors Industrial Design Award Motorola Quality Award Xerox Creativity Award Johnson & Johnson Gracious Professionalism P.S. I was beginning to feel a bit inferior because every was posting their entire team award history. For the sake of my own ego, I feel inclined to mention we've won most of these award multiple times, and have a few division wins to boot. |
Re: How many different awards has your team won?
Here are the official awards we've been given:
Chairman's Award (Livonia and States in '11) Engineering Inspiration Award (Lansing '09 and Detroit '12) Rookie All Star Award (Great Lakes and Nationals '03) District Winners (Detroit '10 and '12, Livonia '11 and '12) District Finalists (Great Lakes '05, Great Lakes and Boilermaker '07) State Finalists (States '11) Judges Award (Great Lakes '05) Sportsmanship Award (Great Lakes '06) Quality Award (Detroit '10) Entrepreneurship Award (Troy '10) Innovation in Control Award (Detroit '11) Industrial Design Award (Livonia '12) Industrial Safety Award (Livonia '11, Detroit '12) Coopertition Award (Livonia '11) Driving Tomorrow's Technology Award (Troy '09) Team Spirit Award (States '12) Dean's List Finalist Shelby Beavers (States '11) Woodie Flowers Award Finalist Debbie May (States '12) 16 different awards not counting Dean's List and Woodie Flowers Award. 13 not counting winners and finalists also. Our team has a total of 6 blue banners, all of which were earned in the last 3 years. We also have a number of awards given to us by other teams and a couple offseason awards (I think). We've also placed as semi-finalists and quarter-finalists many times (including at the Championship in our division). I don't know what I would consider our team's most prized award: our MSC Chairman's Award or our Nationals Rookie All Star Award. You can check out our tram's history and awards here: http://www.firstwiki.net/index.php/1023 http://www.bedfordexpress.org/ I apologize if I sound like I'm bragging. |
