How to Make a CADD rose
 

I'm making a cake on Inventor, in order to keep up my skills. I'm using multiple planes (since it is circular) to attach decorations. I don't care if they are flat but I'm having a really hard time figuring out how I would make a rose.
I thought of lofting it, the loft turned out super weird.
Thanks! (I'm new here, sorry if this is a bad question. Please tell me how to fix it if so)

See this tutorial written for a different CAD program.
The process in any CAD program would be essentially the same.

Thank you so much! Let me take a look, I'm still figuring out how to manage notifications so I get replies in a timely fashion. I'll respond if it doesn't make sense.

I made a rose in solid works for 3D printing a while ago. I used surface lofts with splines and spline guide curves to make the petals. Once the surface lofts were done it was easy to thicken them to form a solid body. The base was a 6 sided prism which I twisted and bent to make it a bit more organic. I think that the flex tool as well as surfaces are your best bet for a rose.
