Re: Galileo 2012!

Yet again the organization of the teams into divisions is impeccable. They really are good at that. Of course, we all want to be on the winning team (Duh!) But the question is, who do we think will come out on top? There are a lot of perpetual good teams in each division, but I'd like to think that some team will pull up out of nowhere and take the division. 25 was missing from the quick list at the top and they had downright amazing performance at Mid-Atlantic Regional on week 7. Naturally, your guess is as good as mine when it comes to winners at the Championships. Any opinions on the matter would be nice, I just want a "heated" discussion.

Good luck from Team 1918. (I think. We're not a one man team.) ;)

Second year in a row on Galileo? I'm alright with that. And the competition looks like it'll be pretty evenly matched, too! Next week in St. Louis!

Team 384 has only ever been put Galileo. :) It'll be a fun competition, looks like there will be some competition!

It's a massive clipboard to whack Billfred with.

P.S., looking forward to inspecting some awesome robots!

I dont have data to back it up, but from my brief observation of the divisions it seems like Galileo will be hard pressed to claim Einstein.
I wouldnt put much into that prediction though, as i have simply been skimming the division lists

I'm very curious to see what alliance will come out of this division, with its very solid middle tier. We have some multiple event winners here such as 16, 25, 48, and 148, but only one of those has won every event they went to. Good job Bomb Squad! But we have to worry about the great teams like 67, 341, 469, 987, 1114, 1717, and 2056 who will be across the field from us on Einstein, and who really seemed to mop up the events they attended.

Bomb Squad looks like a favorite in this division; perhaps they'll team up with the Robowranglers like they did at two of their regionals  or maybe they'll team up with the 25, the first pick and champion of MAR. But there is just such a strong middle tier, including a ton of Michigan teams that qualified from the State Championship, that the eventual winners of this division are very hard to predict. With 100 teams per division, there will certainly be amazing machines that do not make eliminations. And we have by far the most teams that have triple balanced in the past - I really think this division is going to be a Loch Ness fest in elims. Good luck to all teams, and I can't wait to see how this division unfolds!!

Nice... I am soo excited to be sharing the field with 148 among all the other teams... It will be good though to be around them. Brings back some good memories from back in Dallas.

I think there is a lot of good teams that might be underrated in this division should be a blast though to see this play out. Btw, as far as alliances go there a few close teams here, I could very well see a 16-148 reunion from earlier in the year and a 103-25 union with alot of history. Also a michigan alliance of something like any 2 of 33-2054-1918 could be good too.

There are a lot of good teams in the division that are familiar with each other to some extent.

Can't wait to compete with/against 16, 25, 148 at champs again! Also can't wait to see 33. Galileo will be a lot of fun.

Now that the sorting hat has put us all into our divisions, this looks like this will be a fun competition. Although Archimedes seems to be a bit stacked, all divisions have excellent robots. Team 180 is ready to bring its all, and compete for the honor to represent Galileo on Einstein field. To 168, 744, 801, and 4013, we are all going to be travelling a long way from home, but lets show everyone what us Florida teams have to offer. Good luck to everyone, and have fun!

Surprised 2169 isn't getting mentioned. Two regional wins, and highest teleop score in both regionals.

Can't wait to see them play! But I thought they only had one regional win (and a finalist).

They played well enough to win in Wisconsin but a team called 2826 happened. I think we had a bit to do with that as well...but perhaps only a little bit. ;)

While both 48 and 2826 are amazing shooters I think that 269 made the biggest difference in those final matches, we were starved on ammo and they really filled up your side of the field.

Glad to see we are in the same division by the way, hope we get a chance to play together!

That was the plan! Oh, look, they're on Galileo too. ;)
