Are you referring to Q-150? If you are, we did not throw that co-op balance. We actually setup early to help ensure you would get those points since they were critical to your ranking (and really had no bearing on our positioning). You guys showed up later than expected and didn't go up the bridge straight, then there wasn't enough time to correct. Our entire alliance was upset we didn't nail that balance.

I don't believe that's the one he's referring to. It was something that happened earlier with a different team.

Got ya. Just wanted to make sure because we were the last qualification match and were supposed to co-op with them (which obviously went wrong). The way I read that post eluded to us throwing the balance so they wouldn't rank higher, and thats something our team is completely against and wanted to clear that up.

Although we didn't get picked for eliminations, 1501 had a great time (sans some craziness) at the championships.

For the majority of the team, this was their first time ever competing at the worlds. We had crazy matches and mess-ups that reminded us that this wasn't regionals anymore. I can tell that many are taking the experience to heart, and using it to improve themselves and the team next year.

We are extremely humbled by the amount of the teams that came up and asked about our stacking abilities. We knew we had a bit of reputation outside of Indiana, but not at this level. Thank you.

Thank you to 3950 for the continued interest in picking us. Unfortunately, the selections didn't run in your favors. We were looking forward to working with you all, and hopefully that will happen in the future.

On a personal note, thank you to so many teams that took the time to answer my questions despite busy moments, them being 971, 1114, 2056, 1717, 125, 148, 842, 33, 48, 25, 67, 365, and 469.

1501'll hopefully come back next year, and if we do, we'll kick some serious butt around, count on it.....

1885 had a blast on Curie. We had a decent schedule with a mix of powerful alliances and matches where it all fell to us. It was also fun to be able to watch our FTC win the FTC Championships right next door to Curie on Saturday morning.

Thanks to 244 and 624 for a good run at the Semis! The strategy we attempted in SF 1-2 was fun to try even if it became ineffective. The idea was to disrupt 254's ball flow -- which obviously didn't work if it enabled them to get the season's high score. We're sorry we blew a drive train Jag and couldn't finish the match out.

After we got our schedule Thursday morning I convinced our team to move autonomous to the left corner of the key. This was probably the best improvement we've done all year since it gave us a 100% perfect alignment every single match using some very simple triangulation off of field elements. It also got us out of the way for the moving autonomous routines, such as what 341 and 254 had, while also allowing us to be independent autonomous scorers with flexible timing. Finally it put us right in the prime ball throwing lane for the opposing alliance -- and since we were still touching the key, there wouldn't have been any penalties for contact with an alley bot in the opening seconds of teleop.

If anyone has videos from the Curie elims, it would be great if you could throw them up on Youtube. These were some of the best matches this year.

233, 987, 207: All I can say is WOW. Your alliance was absolutely fantastic. 233, you managed to turn it up as you always do for elims. The robot was on fire by finals. 987, you had another amazing machine. I was very impressed by your ability to pick a random spot on the field and drain all of your shots with such speed. 207, I think you have proven a high quality machine with great drivers can make the difference when it comes to elims. Congratulations on winning Curie.

341 and 78: It was great being able to work with you in elims. We were hoping for a 341/254/78 alliance, so to see that actually happen was really cool. We had our share of setbacks, but that's the way these things always go. Miss Daisy, you should hold your heads high. 5 medals in a year is quite the accomplishment. Air Strike, it was cool to work with guys. Your auto was clutch and you played the backcourt extremely well.

So disappointing that there wasnt that many co-op in curie. And it seemed like every alliance went for the shooting and not the triple.

I could tell coming in to Championship that this division would be the one to watch (just look at some of my recent comments), and I wasn't disappointed by a long shot.

Congratulations to all of the teams that made it here in the first place, and to those of you who made it into eliminations! However, there are a couple teams I'd like to put a spotlight on just for a moment, as they performed exceptionally throughout the season and Championships with little recognition. I have watched these teams from afar this season, ever impressed by their constantly improving robots.

Thie first is team 1477, Texas Torque. They ranked deceptively low, losing 4 matches by slim margins, the largest deficit being 6 points. They were also a member of the alliance that first put up a win against 987, alongside teams 120 and 244. They carried the scoring burden of their elimination alliance by themselves with their incredible key shooting that accurately released all of their basketballs in seconds, then quickly gathering the balls fed to them by their partners 1741 and 3528.

The other is team 624, just a short drive away from team 1477, their alliance partners twice this season. Like 1477, 624 ranked low and was the single scoring robot for their elimination alliance, putting up huge numbers in hybrid and teleoperated modes. They also fought hard to make their way to the semifinals, being eliminated by a powerhouse alliance that put up a record 128 points.

I was incredibly impressed by all of the robots that showed up to play on the Curie field this year, and I hope to see a bunch of them at IRI and in coming seasons!

The props to our team means a lot coming from such well known names!. We're extremely glad that we were able to contribute what we could to the incredible scoring machines of 233 and the High Rollers, and moreso glad that we were able to go as far as we did, the farthest our team has ever gone. It was an honor to be on the field with such well known teams, and I can't wait to see as many of you again as possible during the upcoming season.

Congrats to 233, 987, and 207 on their stellar play! Elimination matches on Curie were some of the most exciting I have experienced in my 11 years in FRC.

A big thanks to 341 and 254 for picking us. Everyone in the stands were going crazy when it was announced! I really had a feeling we were going to go far...especially when watching the triple balance practice in the pits before elims started.

I'm sure the drive team will have more good things to say...it's not every day you get the chance to play with two HOF teams. Simply amazing.

That was our first time (other than being invited as a rookie team 5 years ago) at the championships. ... we were hoping to make a good "first impression" with a lot of the teams so we'd be more recognizable if we have another good season next year. Thanks for clearing that up in case others interpreted it the same way.

They are a great group of people to work with, and we look forward to working together again in the future out on the West Coast.

I would also like to congratulate Teams 341, 254, and 78. The #1 alliance was an incredible pairing that at first I didn't know if we could beat. Congratulations on setting the 2012 game high score of 128. Miss Daisy's machine this year was a sight to see and we had a great time fighting back and forth with them and 233 for the top seed. I wish that our rookie mistake with the battery connector in our match together hadn't happened and we could have seen at least one match of what our pairing had the potential of putting up on the scoreboard. The Poofs are a perennial powerhouse team that I have admired and respected since I started in FIRST in 2006. They always have incredible robot designs, are fiercely competitive and one of the hardest working teams in FIRST. They are one of the teams you would always rather play with than against if you have the choice. And Team 78, it is too bad that you lost radio power in Curie Finals Match 1. Congrats on a great season as well.

Congrats also to the other teams in Curie that had great performances this weekend off the top of my head like 1986, 624, 3098, 1507, 1477, 2474, 1678, and 1511. The Curie field was very deep this year and it was a lot of fun to get to know and compete against new teams we've never faced.

Lastly, I want to give a special thanks to Team 525 for helping us fix our ball intake mechanism after they inadvertantly broke it at the end of QF3-2. Truely a remarkable showing of gracious professionalism and class from a great team.

We were definitely glad to have your team in Long Beach. You guys brought a world-class level of competition to an already competitive regional, and made the matches there so much more exciting. My senior year on the drive team couldn't have ended any better, and I hope that the next generation will get to enjoy sharing the field with your team. We'd love to have you guys down at LA again next year, and perhaps we'll even see you guys in Vegas!

Curie was amazing this year. Thanks for some of the best matches I have ever seen!

We will slowly be uploading videos from curie qualification matches on our youtube channel we are starting with our matches because I want to watch those but we should get the vast majority of the qualification matches up soon enough.

Yea :( If you watch the collision between 1885 & 254 at 0:26, you may notice that the Poofs' "fingers" on their collection mechanism jam into our electronics board. At that point the jags started throwing errors down the CAN bus, meaning that we still had comms but very sporadic response from the robot. It should have been a [G27], potential yellow card if the ref caught it and we could have explained the extent and result of the damage, but the ref didn't see it and wouldn't assign the penalty after the fact.

We figured there were 2 ways to slow down the poofs, but only got to try one of them (and it obviously didn't work :rolleyes: )
