Pictures of Everyone in Newton
If we we could compile the pictures of every robot in the Newton Division, it would be to the mutual benefit of all teams in the division. I will be maintaining this thread. At the bare minimum, a picture of your robot is great. If you have pictures of other teams that you attended events with, that would be even more excellent. Let's get started with just my team, and make it to 99!:
Videos are good too, but pictures are better for peoples scouting databases. 11 41 45 68 79 86 107 111 (Video) 115 118 (Video) 175 181 191 222 271 329 330 340 (Video) 360 365 375378 435 457 469 488 (Video) 548 555 610 611 639 (Video) 714 816 840 842 1023 1111 1126 1178 1209 1219 1241 1329 1506 1519 1540 1622 1629 (Video) 1635 1640 1662 1717 1772 1937 1983 2059 2062 2067 2122 2194 2200 2460 2468 2471 2517 2574 2640 2705 2834 2902 2936 3018 3083 3176 3230 3245 3255 3310 3357 3504 3512 3566 3627 3630 3930 3937 3990 4021 4043 4055 4086 4089 4122 4183 4188 4228 4262 4294 4320 4379 |

That's our catapult, now with faster awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZk8-wEMWi8 It's got all the fancy bells and whistles -- external collector and bridge manipulator, highly accurate, crosses barrier, mechanical brakes, occupies a smaller footprint on the bridge than a wide robot, etc. |
Re: Pictures of Everyone in Newton
1629 Youtube video, this was before the bag and tag, drivers are much improved after two regionals, and we were able to build a second bot for practice.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7r3XF...ature=youtu.be We are a fender shooter, middle goal, can cross the barrier, bridge balance, super shifting transmission with tank treads, and can play mad defense!!!!! |

* Let me know if you'd prefer a different format for submission....but I love imgur :P Pulls bridge down like nothing. Near perfect autonomous. Fairly accurate from the key. 2 pt fenders. Can hang halfway off the bridge and it doesn't affect us. * Picture does not accurately represent what we'll look like at worlds. We have a new (bridge-pull-down/ball-manipulator)-all-in-one that will be making an appearance. |

Re: Pictures of Everyone in Newton
Hey guys, the Power Hawks Team 1111 is very excited to compete in Newton! I have a feeling whoever Newton sends to Einstein will have a good chance of winning it all with the strength of the division.
At Chesapeake we had problems transitioning from hybrid to tele-op due to a motor still running on our CAN network that caused us to have to reset the router and miss the first part of some of our early matches and not run our hybrid mode in later matches. We have fixed the problem and have a new middle side-hoop autonomous. We have worked hard with our 2nd robot to practice quick and accurate 2 pt hoop fender shooting but are also capable of shooting for the top hoop or from farther away. Our 256:1 geared bridge tipper can lower the competition weight bridge with ease and also easily raise the co-op bridge for teams on the other side to get on. We balanced our last 6 matches in a row at Chesapeake and have practiced on our competition weighted bridge at home with our 2nd robot. Our long robot has a back-weighted CG so that we can hang the entire front half of our robot off the bridge for triple balancing. We only take up 24" of the bridge. See the triple balance pictures from our shop below. I couldn't really find any amazing pictures, you can chose which of these two you like better.
http://www.applepirobotics.org/media...m=15&photo=452 http://www.applepirobotics.org/media...m=13&photo=434 We are a narrow robot, 31" long, and we have a 2 wheeled shooter. We have a very solid and easily used bridge arm that never fails us. We pride ourselves in our shooting consistency, shown very well in this video of us from Connecticut regional. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sY63SYvYTU Our aiming should be much faster at champs. We are also hoping to have some other improvements from what's currently there, but we'll see  |

Picture of final robot from Team 4183.
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/photos/37490 Can score very consistently from the fender when lined up (our driver is still practicing!) and can hit both balls from the key (in the high goal) during hybrid mode fairly consistently. |

Here are some of the pictures I've gotten from some quick searches:
41 111 - Reveal Video 118 - Not of 118 exclusively, but a pretty good shot of their robot. Reveal Video. 175 - Will put up a better picture if found. 191 330 365 378 610 - Reveal Video. 1519 1640 1635 2834 - This is a link to their site with a bunch of photos from their competition season. There are several shots of their robot in it as well. 3937 I've now run out of time to search. I'll post more later if I can get a chance. Good luck! |

We will need to add 1178 to the list as well now. Congrats to them on the late addition.

Re: Pictures of Everyone in Newton
To everyone in all the divisions at worlds, especially those who are posting pictures, please fill and make a project created by a couple of people on my team (3357) an effective tool. two student mentors, Ben Abraham and Grant Gumina created a site called The First Alliance. There has been a picture base added to this as well as OPR and elimination ranking styles. All of which to better the game experience and take the stress out of tracking. We would very much so like it to grow, so that there is one central location for all the data!

Re: Pictures of Everyone in Newton
Team 1111 has improved a lot since Chesapeake and is looking forward to competing in Newton!
We fixed our problem of having a motor still running on our CAN network causing us to not transition correctly from hybrid to tele-op that hurt us in the first half of our matches at Chesapeake. We have a new middle side hoop autonomous for more accuracy and consistency. We are optimized to shoot 2 pt or 3pt shots from the fender but have the capability to shoot from the key or feed our partners across the field and play smart defense. With our strong bridge manipulator we can lift the co-op bridge and hold it up for teams on the other side, or push it down and drive over. We balanced our last 6 matches in a row at Chesapeake (including elims). With our back loaded CG, we can hang off half our robot off the bridge leaving only 24" of the robot with bumpers on the bridge. Re: Pictures of Everyone in Newton
[quote=kevincrispie;1160361]This is a link to 1622 not 1662. Both in the same division, so sort of confusing.
I was just about to comment on this but it seems that you beat me to it. In Central Valley it was even more confusing because there was a 1622, 1662, and a 1266. |

This photo is only slightly dated in that blockers have been added to the sides to prevent balls from getting stuck and a stinger has been added to the arm. |

SMART
Spruce Mountain Area Robotics Team ROBOTICS Team #3930 Bowser is about 38 inches from front to back, and about 28 inches wide, a great size to fit on the bridge with the other robots! We were able to meet with other teams during the build season to practice balancing, and found that with good communication between the drivers of each robot we could work together to achieve the balance happen. Our team has a plan to make that happen as well, which we will share in our alliances! Bowser is also 4.5 feet tall, under the legal limit, which lowers his center of gravity, allowing him to maneuver more easily. Its weight of 120 lbs. is all muscle and no fluff, it is sturdy and can resist attack from other robots trying to push it around. One of its many features is the arm, our drivers use the arm to lower the bridge, enabling not only itself to board the bridge but other robots in the alliance as well. Bowser is built on 8 wheels, linked with chain and powered by 4 CIM motors. The front of the frame is built at a 45 degree angle, raising the front wheel on each side to enable driving over the barrier. Bowser is capable of shooting 3 point baskets from anywhere on the court, but its success is most consistent from “in the paint”. It’s our rookie year, but we have made great strides, give us a chance and be amazed at what we can do!! |
Re: Pictures of Everyone in Newton
68 has revamped our shooter, so no more high-contrast panels on the shooter wheels. The rest of the new specs are still under wraps. See you in St. Louis.

Team 2936 Gatorzillas
The FRC Tracker photo of the Gatorzillas robot was from the Alamo Regional. We replaced the shooting wheel for the Lone Star Regional and I uploaded a new photo from that Regional. I also uploaded photos and video links to thefirstalliance.org: http://thefirstalliance.org/team.php?team-number=2936# Our shooting improved for the Lone Star Regional and we have been in the shop working on our shooting since the Lone Star and expect much improved shooting at the Championships. We have been successful in Triple Balancing at both Alamo and Lone Star due to designing a wide robot. We hope to have a chance to do some more triple balancing in St Louis. Good luck to everyone and see you in St Louis. |
