Team popping a wheelie to get on the bridge

I remember watching a team who consistently could pop a wheelie to lower the bridge. Anyone know who that may be? And anyone have any footage of it?

Thanks!

We (25) do it every time. We even do wheelies in autonomous O.o

Betting it was 25.
We did it too at GTR East. Scouts love it.

You can see them a few times in our highlight video ----- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUHXf...ayer_embedded#!

Here's the video of us doing it in autonomous --

Well, we haven't needed to do it consistently because our bridge actuator is plenty consistent, but we did wheelie onto the bridge in a few practices matches at NYC and in one qualification match on Friday of the CT regional. Unfortunately I don't think any videos have been posted online.

Probably 25 in MAR elims.

That's it, thanks! Great job 25!

843 from FLR did it as well. Low CoG and those huge wheels make for some fun tricks!

How possible do you think it is with 4" wheels? I want to attempt this in the offseason, but our base is pretty low to the ground (about 2" of clearance)

My team 1056 did that at the hawaii regional every match. our robot was a dunker and had L.E.D.s if that jogs your memory

Team 1391 was doing it before it was cool. ;)

As an aside, what a blue alliance in that video. A combined seven event wins on it.

Team 3255 had an issue with our wedge in an early match at San Diego regionals. Our driver adapted and started popping gnarly wheelies to get the bridge down. Great improve and got the balance. I wonder if he is sad that the mechs fixed the wedge? :)

It depends on how far back your wheels are; if your robot can't tilt back enough for the front to bring the bridge down, it's a no-go. The other factor is where your CG is located; if it's centered, it's going to be substantially harder to wheelie up, but if it's close to one end of your bot, it's going to be easier.

If you're actually wheelie-ing up, and not using something to prop the front up, don't forget that you have to go away from the bridge, then slam forwards to wheelie up.

There was a team in Oklahoma who did...can't recall their number off the top of my head...

Both 470 and 3175 here in Michigan could do it consistently. Unfortunately, neither are going to the Championship, but it was fun to watch as a scout.

We (team 422) were pulling them way back in week three  . As head scout, I heard from Team 900 that they were going to attempt it, and told my driver, who decided the wouldn't beat us to it. We rode the wheelie balance train to the finals at VCU, only to lose when our alliance captain tipped, two matches in a row.

A slightly higher than normal CG and torquey drivetrain helps too.

Team 1248 did a wheelie to get on the bridge. They were really successful at it
