Looking forward to seeing how google responds to this... Either way, this has to happen eventually. FIRST is growing and google will catch on sooner or later; they seem to be showing a lot of interest in technological awareness lately.

Yeah... well I only really threw the bridge in as an attempt to balance the game elements - take it out and it ends up being all 2011 stuff + robots from the other 2 years... and that would bother me xDD

Well, cos the robots are clearly drawn (albiet in Photoshop), I figured matching the logo to that drawing style would make it look better. And it totally did. I feel like the cartoon angle is something we should play up. You are right about the balance bridge, it's growing on me. As for the sending it, there frc teams sponsored by Google, right? I was thinking they should suggest it.

Additionally, since the incorporating the FIRST logo into the Google logo violates the FIRST Branding & Design Standards, you would want to get FIRST's concurrence. Because FIRST has an ongoing relationship with Google, they may also be helpful in getting it submitted to Google.

Astrokid: Alright, yeah :D Uniform makes it come together better, too...the one with the FIRST logo was kinda...well there was something about it that didn't seem pulled together? XD

Oh yeah, good catch! Even if we don't use the actual FIRST logo, this would be representing FIRST and they would probably have to approve of it too...

When you get this doodle done to your satisfaction, contact FIRST and let them know what you want to do and get their input/assistance. You can find the contact information here

Thanks for the link! Do you think sending some of these to them even if I'm not done might be a good idea? My team once tried to contact FIRST on issues similar to this (we published two childrens' books, and we're working on a third one...) and I heard it took a long time to get through the entire process...

Anywho. Updates :D


And here's with rough colors...I know they're not colored in between the lines :) :) Hopefully everyone's alright with the new Green Alliance xD

It may take awhile, but you really need to start with approval from FIRST if you are going to use any FIRST trademarks (the logo or name). Although it looks like you have removed the trademarks in the last set of pictures you just posted.

I would submit the image that has the FIRST trademarks in them as well as the last set you just posted and ask for an opinion from FIRST.

I think it's good. It's to the point, gives the needed explanation, and is straightforward.

Of course, I'd get a second opinion before jabbing that SEND button.
