Re: paper: Gearbox Calculator

This is the Gearbox Calculator Program I wrote in order to make my life as a designer much easier. All you have to do is enter the gear teeth and the wheel size, and it will output the Ratio, The FPS at 81% efficiency, The center distance between both sets of gears with an additional .002 inches for clearance. It also has some stock information including the OD of the CIM, how big all the screw holes are, and then some information if you want to CAD the holes for the AM encoder mount. In addition if using the 2 speed mode it will tell you if the 2 sets of shifting gears are the same center distance.

I am releasing this to the community in order to help as many teams as possible. If anybody has any suggestions, feel free to PM me or post them here.

I just got to playing with this. This is really a fantastic tool, and I'll keep it handy for future gearbox designs. Thanks for sharing it with CD.
