That Blue Bulldozer Robot from the Game Animations
Hello Robonauts!
This might seem like a strange first post, but I'd like to start with something happy, that everybody can relate to. Every year, there is a game animation with six robots: three red, three blue. There are successful ones, and not so successful ones, but one stands ahead of the rest. So far ahead that he has been in all of the recent animations. All of them. He is the blue bulldozer. His beauty and success comes from his simplistic design, his lack of being able to do anything, really. We just felt like he needed more attention. So we found his facebook page. At first, a few people liked him. But then it died down. But I know that he has more fans then just that! Please, go and support this robot. Give him the strength to return next year. I have faith in you. http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Li...52219038129451 |

He's the one that always get the damage. soccer balls and logo intertubes thrown at him, falls off the bridge trying to do a triple balance.

I caught a picture of one of the Montreal rookies when I was at the Montreal regional this past March.
Yes, you guessed it; they built Plowie. |
Re: That Blue Bulldozer Robot from the Game Animations
I've always called him (her?) Dozer.

I've heard both "Plowy/Plowie/Plow-E" and Dozer.
Dave would know for real, but I'm pretty sure it's Dozer. |

For as long as I can remember, my team & I have always called him "Dot Bot", but Dozer works too =)

Re: That Blue Bulldozer Robot from the Game Animations
I felt this was the right thread to add this to...
For our promotional and testing projects we created what we call our "Universal Robotics Platform." The URP was taking form to be a large, fast, and off road capable machine that we could use for football games to cover the field quickly while carrying a large payload (think t-shirt cannon/s). As it took it's final form, we naturally added a few blue panels and some eyes and got this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kS-UB_r2Bqo "Dozer" 36" X 24" X 18" 195 lbs Optima Red Top Battery Four CIM Drive through CIMple Boxes Geared for 32 ft/s to clear a football field in a hurry Programmed speed defaults to 50% and requires driver input to reach full speed 10" Pneumatic wheelchair tires to handle offroad situations Servo driven eyes Almost FRC legal... and we still have to make his blade silver. |

Really big wheels and sprockets that are most likely too big... |
Re: That Blue Bulldozer Robot from the Game Animations
As long as I can remember, everyone on my team called him "Shovel Bot." Definitely not quite as graceful as "Dozer."

The different names are amusing to read though. This is adorable! He'll make a great demonstration robot. If you guys make it to Worlds, I would love to see him in person. |
A Dozer you can buy and use. :-) http://uncrate.com/stuff/robot-snow-plow/
