Re: M.A.R.C. 2012 Invite list
Woah... There are so many great teams attending this! :ahh: I thought an off-season event would be much smaller. Goes to show just how out-of-the-loop I am. ._." *Shrinks back into her corner of shame.*
We're looking forward to competing alongside everyone again, and to see some other states' teams and machines. Good luck everyone! :D |
Re: M.A.R.C. 2012 Invite list
So...who's getting excited for MARC? :)
I'd like to ask Michigan folks to supply the wide/long/square/etc. info for the team list below. Probably wouldn't take long, just like the IRI list. For the record, Team 48's bot is long (34.5" frame) with pneumatic stinger and ability to overhang. To see how much it can overhang, watch this 80's soundtrack cheese-fest - http://youtu.be/Z1wugVzdhG0?t=4m11s. We have not tripled in competition but are very much looking Forward to doing so! We feel we can either be the triple train's "engine" or "caboose" in part of a double-stinger attempt. Code:

Long 240 ,470?, 2612
Wide 302 Jump drive, 308 If anyone wants to do the research I'm sure between the blue alliance and the FirstinMichigan youtube page I'm sure you could find the rest |
Re: M.A.R.C. 2012 Invite list
2137 is wide but can switch between 4WD or 6WD by raising or lowering a center set of wheels. With all 6 wheels down, we can hang another 8" or so off the end of the bridge.

Re: M.A.R.C. 2012 Invite list
3547 does not have Mecanums. We switched to Omni wheels after our first competition. We have a system where we can switch between Omni and traction.

Also, as I'm unfamiliar with the term (sue me), what is a "jump drive" where 308 is concerned? Is it some kind of nonadrive/octanum/freaky thing? I watched some of their matches and they seemed to operate essentially as a standard skid long bot. |
Re: M.A.R.C. 2012 Invite list
308 can toggle between traction and mecanums.
They are technically a long bot, but it doesn't mean you can turn them side ways and push them up the bridge. -Clinton- |
