Re: Ramp Riot 2012: The Official Thread
Nothing final yet, but StuyPulse is pretty dead set on returning to ramp riot. It was a fantastic event last year and I know it will be fantastic again in 2013.

Ramp Riot 2012: The Official Thread
To All Friends of Ramp Riot:
We now have one opening for Ramp Riot with one month left until game day. If you know of any interested teams that would like to play at Ramp Riot on November 10th, please post here or send me a PM. We would love to fill this opening and have 36 Teams for the event. A new team list is in the previous post. Thanks for supporting Ramp Riot and all of the other East Coast off-season events. Al Ostrow Team 341 |
Re: Ramp Riot 2012: The Official Thread
We are excited about the Co-event, Daisy's Girls in Gear with the Girl Scouts. It's so cool to get Daisies and Brownies into robotics. Have them drive older 341 robots and our robots and then send them over to Ramp Riot with the knowledge that they can do that too. Daisy Scouts, like Miss Daisy Roboteers show no fear behind the control stick!

Re: Ramp Riot 2012: The Official Thread
To All Ramp Riot Teams:
Just a quick note to let you know that we are still planning to hold Ramp Riot as scheduled. The school has power and there was no damage. The school should be open tomorrow. I apologize for the lack of updates. I personally have had no electrical power for 4 days and my internet is still down as I write to you. So I will work very hard this weekend to get you all of the information that you need. In the mean time please plan to bring canned goods for the community cupboard. As always, the team with the most cans will win the Mike Wade Trophy and you will be helping families in need. Thank you and be safe. Al Ostrow |

Special Charity Note:
As always we will collect food cans for the Mattie N Dixon Community Cupboard and the team that brings the most cans will be awarded the 2012 Mike Wade Memorial Trophy (Picture Attached). But more importantly we have a large number of struggling families in our district that lost all of their food during the storm and blackout last week. Please, Please do whatever you can to bring canned goods for these families. This year it is more important then ever to participate. Many families are trying to replace food that spoiled last week. Thank you! Alan Ostrow |
Re: Ramp Riot 2012: The Official Thread

Re: Ramp Riot 2012: The Official Thread
Hey guys! This is Samantha Adams, co-captain of CRT 306. I just wanted to say thank you to Miss Daisy for hosting and making the event everything it was. Our rookies were excited and had the best learning experience we could ask for. We all had a great time and can't wait for next year!
Quick thank you to everyone for voting for us for the Gracious Professionalism award. We can't say thank you enough! :D This event was my "rookie" event for driving. Our driver for Rebound Rumble graduated and I became the driver for our team. Having never had a chance to drive the robot on the actual field, this event really made me more confident. Plus my first ever double balance was with no other than Miss Daisy! Thanks again so much you guys and keep in touch. Your friends, CRT 306(: ![]() |

In a very MOE-like display of community service, 365 brought in the most cans with 555! The FTC event even managed to bring in 189 cans, which is quite impressive :ahh: All in all, Ramp Riot 13 was awesome. Great spirit (thanks 75 for keeping the rafters LOUD), great teams (lots of double doubles, 5 bots up, and triples as well), and even better for the cleanup crew/travelling teams: we ended right on time! |
Re: Ramp Riot 2012: The Official Thread
Team 869 had a graet time at Ramp Riot 2012! The energy was amazing, great work by the MCs, student MCs, and the rest of the field crew.
341 put on an amazing event and we were thrilled to make our Ramp Riot debut! Congratulations to 1676, 341, and 2606/ 2607 on some outstanding play, you guys were awesome! Thanks again Miss Dasiy for showing us a great time! :D |
Re: Ramp Riot 2012: The Official Thread
On behalf of Team 1676, we would like to extend our most sincere thanks for all of your congratulations. We had an amazing time at the event, and it was great being able to finally return. We recently found our 2005 Ramp Riot Winner Trophy hidden in our shop (we were the backup bot), and it felt wonderful to be able to go back, this time winning the trophy as alliance captain. Was the webcast recorded somewhere? We would love to be able to relive those tense moments.
A HUGE thanks to Mr. Ostrow and 341 for hosting the event, and also to both 341 and 2606 for being awesome alliance partners, as well as 423 for being our backup robot. We couldn't have done it without you. 75, as always, your enthusiasm that you bring is incomparable. Even though you only brought 16 team members, we could only strive to be as spirited as you were. Hearing you cheering for us as we accepting our awards was such an incredible feeling, which we cannot thank you enough for. Congrats on a very well deserved Spirit Award. We hope that Eve ended up okay in the end. Thank you to Little Bear, Eric, Katie, Liz, Howard, Mike Rizzo, and everyone else involved with MC-ing/FTA-ing/reefing/etc. Some how after being behind schedule in the morning, we ended right on time, and the event couldn't have ran as smoothly without all of your dedication and help. 2607, 1218, 75, and 1923 - thanks for some intense final matches. After seeing you're strategy for winning the semi's, boy were we scared! You guys put up an intense fight, and it was an honor to play against you. 2016, 25, and 1640, boy did you triple-balance fast! We were scared of you too! You were one monster of an alliance, and I believe hold the high score for the event. You played amazingly, and have much to be proud of. MOE - 555 cans? That's crazy! That's half of what they collected. Wow. That's an outstanding feat, which we greatly applaud you for. A huge congrats to winning the Mike Wade Memorial Award (How many years is this for you guys? =P) 2016, thank you for collecting donations for Hurricane Sandy victims. That is very thoughtful of you, and we were honored to be able to help you out. Also, congrats to 869 on a winning the Judge's Award, and to Team 306 for winning the G.P. Award. We hope that 694 and 369 are able to recover from their storm damages quickly. If there is anything at all that we can do to help, please let us know. Lastly but certainly not least, thank you to all teams who attended for making it such a great event. It was the last competition for our 2012 robot, Iron Horse, and you all help make it the best it could be. We wish everyone the best of luck, and look forward to seeing you all soon next season. Sincerely, Ryan Hall 2011-2013 Co-C.E.O. FRC Team 1676, The Pascack Pi-oneers |

1640 loved Ramp Riot (though it took a lot out of us, sorry Brunswick :(). Congrats to Daisy and all the volunteers for, as usual, pulling off such an awesome event! And for, you know, winning. What does that make this year?
Thanks so much to 25 and 2016 for selecting us. We're sorry it didn't end better, but it was great time working with you and we hope you enjoyed it as well. Awesome triple balancing! Congratulations to 2607, 1218, 75, and 1923 for beating us and making amazing finalists. You guys were a heck of an alliance! |
