Hi all,
I was just wondering where and how do we order spare Fisher Price motors. If anyone could let me know i would greatly appreciate it. Thanx,
Andy Grady, DWC/Alvirne

Andy,

Most likey you can trade them from another team. A lot of teams aren't using them. I saw alot of them in a 'swap box' of parts that some teams contributed to at the NASA KSC Regional. Perhaps, other Regionals or the Nationals will have such a box at the Small Parts booth.

Of course you can always hand over the cash at you local Power Wheels service center
(see http://www.powerwheels.com/service/centers/ for the location nearest you!).

I found that my service center would only sell me the entire assembly, I had to place an order to get just the motors (It took about a week)

You will need P/N 7440-0640 (~$15.00) for the motor (which is a Mabuchi RS-550PF-6534)
or P/N 74460-9519 (~30.00) for one gearbox assembly with motor.

Also, see this previous posting by JoeJohnson, he has some good advise on this one.....

Good Luck,

Gee, all this great stuff should be in a database somewhere....hum :=)

Really appreciate the advice! I was dreading having to buy a couple whole jeeps. Can you confirm that the extra motors you got have 16 teeth on the motor pinions? We're running the motors in our gearbox and have encountered 'spare' FP motors with 19 instead of the kit supplied 16 teeth. Obviously 19 tooth pinions have the wrong center distance so we can't use them.

My local service center could not find PN 7440-0640. They could find 74460-9579 listed as motor with pinion. Do you have any information which might clear this up?

I have the part in hand

I have the motor in hand.

I count 16 teeth on the pinion. The sticker on it calls out part number '74446-0640' I have 4 of these motors with this part number, they are all identical and all mate with the gearbox.

I would guess that the Service Center is wrong. When I went to my local center, it took them a while to look it up and research the exact part. Be patient, have them look again.
