**FIRST EMAIL**/STIMS Opens Today @ Noon ET/Summer Reading



Greetings Teams:

Student Team Information Member System (STIMS) Opens Today, 8/2/12 at Noon ET: https://my.usfirst.org/stims/site.lasso. Returning students can use their login information from last season; new students may register by clicking on the "New Student User" button.

STIMS is where students apply to join their FRC team (students must re-apply each year), complete the 2013 electronic FIRST Consent and Release Form, and submit for the Chairman’s, Safety Animation, Entrepreneurship, Woodie Flowers and Website Awards.

Summer Reading: It’s an excellent time to catch up on some FRC Summer reading!　 Please encourage your Team’s Mentors to visit the FRC Resources page on the website: http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/resources and explore the wealth of helpful information they will find there.

Entrepreneurship award in STIMS??

I noticed that too! Does anybody else think that means that the Entrepreneurship Award is going to be judged the same way as the Website Award?

Has somebody confirmed that Entrepreneurship is entered in STIMS? Maybe it is a typo. As far as I know there have been no changes to how Entrepreneurship is being judged.

Yep, it's in there. Due the same date as Chairmans, Website, ect.

Maybe it has something to do with submitting Business Plans. I'm sure we will find out sometime before the submission deadlines.

Well that takes the fun out of running around the pits in New York City trying to find a printer right before the judges come to your team. It's still better this way. I'm pretty sure this change will be appreciated by those who work tirelessly to draft a plan and have it pretty much ignored by the judges when presenting it.

Is the consent and release form available for students through STIMS yet? I noticed the paper version is not available yet.

The student consent form appears to be in STIMS as I've gotten confirmation from FIRST that some of our students/parents have filled it out.

The adult version doesn't seem to be available yet in TIMS.
