A safety animation question for Dave Lavery

First off, if anyone knows how to contact Dave Lavery with this question, please let me know.

I've started work on the safety animation for team 1511. One of the characters it will contain is a rendition of the 6-wheeled blue bulldozer robot that appears in every single game animation. These animations are attributed to Dave Lavery. I was told by one of my mentors to inquire if this was acceptable, or if it was infringing some sort of copyright from Dave or FIRST. I'd like to point out I am not asking for the assets - I made them myself, and it contains much more detail than the one in the game animations. cRIO, Jaguars, battery, etc all wired up. Also, the animation is primarily about another character of my own design, so I don't think a problem would arise where the animation is centered around someone else's work. However, the bulldozer bot (does it have a name?) is an essential part of the animation, so I can't simply get rid of it to avoid the issue altogether. usfirst.org is down at the moment, so I can't check the rules there.

Thanks in advance for any help!

P.S. I hope that was understandable.

Unrelatedly, his name is Dozer.
