Because FLR was Week 2 last time and the important Michigan districts start in Week 2 - which is what they were doing at the time.

With FLR Week 1, it opens up the door again. That's also why teams like 188 and 610 who make regular rounds to FLR didn't make it last time either - as that's when GTR East(?) was, week 2.

Well... And I may be mistaken, or misinformed, or whatnot... but I believe Chesapeake and FLR were the same weekend. Yet they went to Chesapeake anyways. But whatever. Teams have their reasons for doing things. Reasons we don't need to know. I only hope we're fortunate enough for 217 to compete at FLR again :)

Team 1165 will hopefully be having its first year attending two separate regionals plus the Championship. We're going to go to Arizona, but we're also going to try to make it to a March 28th-30th event.

I would be very happy to hear that FLR is moving back to Week 1 again.

I know nothing is official yet, but is this the direction FLR is heading in?

From the looks of the RIT schedule, it's most likely going to be Week 1 - but yes, it isn't confirmed yet. The event has always taken place in the returning weekend of RIT's break, so that's why it can be assumed this way.

I am thinking about sending our team to the Razorback Regional.

I think it will be a great event and they have a beautiful venue. It would be a big trip for us for a second regional but I think it will be a great event and instantly be one of the top tier regionals.

Re: Which Regionals/Districts?

359 plans to do:
Plan A-unofficially go to a Canadian regional ;) Hawaii, and CMP
Plan B-unofficially Bayou, Peachtree combo if possible or Boilermaker, Cincinnati combo if possible...........and Hawaii and CMP

Going to either depends on when Hawaii is, which has been narrowed to 2 weekend dates at the moment.
We also try to go to a new regional every year, other than the second home for Hawaii residents......Las Vegas.

If you're serious about Boilermaker - and that would be awesome - be advised that it has a hard cap at 40 teams.
Fire Marshall says so.
There figures to be 50+ teams in Indiana alone next year. My advice would be to claim it as your primary event to make sure you get in.

Pittsburgh (almost a certainty)

1-2 of Queen City/Wisconsin/GTR West

Those are my personal preferences. 48 leadership won't discuss and decide on anything like this until the regional schedule is released.

There's supposed to be a second Indiana regional competition for the 2013 season, in Terre Haute. If Boilermaker isn't available when registration time comes around, maybe the new one will be.

I expect SPAM will attend Orlando, South Florida, and Championships, though no final decision has been made as far as I know.

I plan to volunteer to GA Orlando and S. Florida again next year. I might even throw my hat in for champs since SPAM is qualified in advance... we'll see.

We'll probably go to Waterford again, since it's only 25 minutes away, and Northville or maybe Troy. If we have the funds and the weeks line up, we might head out-of-state (if I convince them:rolleyes:). Some of us were talking to our team leader, and he gave Queen City a resounding "maybe", which is about the best we could expect.

We'd love to have you guys at Bayou! We're a fun little regional with spunk (i think).

Please come to Peachtree; watching 359 in person has been on my FIRST wish list for a while, and being able to watch & referee you guys would be one of the greatest endings to a college spring break.

COME TO A CANADIAN REGIONAL TO HELP US DEFEAT THE "EH TEAM" (Referring to 1114, and 2056 right now).

(just to clarify to everyone, I DO NOT hate these teams at all, I simply (ha, I wish it was simple) want to beat them. I have actually gotten to know some of their members through Facebook. My goal for next year is to defeat 2056 in a Regional, which Does NOT mean I hate them, its a Goal I set for myself)
