He's not trying to put a pie in his face. He's trying to push him over. The pie was a prank from his students that he hasn't bothered to wash off yet.

He may look like Koko Ed, but his posture suggests that he is really the Stig in disguise. Clearly nobody else would respond to getting hit in the face by a pie by not doing anything.
