FIRST team 433, the Firebirds, would like to invite all FIRST teams to participate in our 3rd annual all-female off-season competition, girlPOWER*.
For this wonderful FRC event, all those on drive teams and/or pit crews will be girls (although the boys are more than welcome to come and support!). There will be also be robotics demonstrations, food, music and a lot of fun. Spectators will be able to take a turn driving one of several demo robots to really give others a hand-ons first look at FIRST. Representatives from numerous university engineering schools will offer information about their programs. Event will take place at: 120 W. Wissahickon Avenue Flourtown, PA 19031 *Preparing Outstanding Women Engineers through Robotics Please like us on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/firebirds433 Or follow us on twitter at: @firebirds433 Thank you! |

Re: 2012 girlPOWER Invitational
The Pascack Pi-oneers had a blast at girlPOWER last week, and want to extend our most sincere thanks to Team 433 for hosting the amazing competition, 2016 and 293 for forming a wonderful winning alliance, 2607, 1218, and 3974 for making very exciting final matches, and 4077 and 1219 for also contributing to the great fun.
We would also specifically like to make a mention of Team 1218, who brought a second robot for other participants without teams present to compete with. That was an amazingly sincere and thoughtful gesture, and we certainly look up to you for all of your kindness. Lastly, a huge shout-out to FTA Liz Smith, and Mike Rizzo and the rest of the referee crew. Thanks for helping out with the event, your constantly dedication means a lot to all of us teams. We couldn't do it without you...really ;). And Liz, I don't know if the unexpected radio resetting you asked me to do ended up working, but thanks for overcoming all of the challenges you faced with only having a limited crew, and of course, for teaching me something new. I was honored to be able to help out. =) We wish everyone good luck for this coming season, especially Rookie Team MASH. We can't wait to see you all again soon. :D |
