[OCCRA]: Human Player field interaction.

Is it legal for a Human Player to pick up balls from inside the field? Specifically the large green bonus balls.

Official answer:

Q. Is it legal for a Human Player to pick up balls from inside the field? Specifically the large green bonus balls.

A. A Human Player (HP) may not reach out onto the field. If a robot delivers a ball, whether large or small, they must not contact the HP (or vice versa). We do not want an HP getting injured by a robot. The referees understand that there might be brief, accidental intrusions by robots into the HP zone as well as brief, accidental intrusions of HPs into the playing field. They will not penalize these brief, accidental intrusions as long as they do not cross the barrier plane by very much and they do not pose a risk to the HP. If a ref sees an HP or robot extend well over the barrier plane, the team will receive a warning and could possibly be penalized.
