Saw it make a pass over LAX a few minutes ago from a nice air-conditioned conference room. No cameras allowed though

About an hour ago, it passed over my school. Didn't hear about it though until the next period. Darn!

Got to see the final approach. The actual landing was "behind" a building from where I was. Strange, I got to see the first flight of the shuttle program when Enterprise made it's first drop test. Now I got to see the last landing. Those two events bracket much of my career.

Maybe didn't get as good a view as the Robonauts... but a flyby our school was pretty cool. And at lunch so everyone saw.

Here's a photo of some of us on the SpaceX roof as we get our own Endeavor fly by (I'm the grey-haired guy on the left):

I was across the street from SpaceX in the parking lot of a home improvement store. Got pictures from 3/4 flybys... including the landing one and one that went down to about 200 ft over the runway; I'll have to go through and post some of them.

Edit: Pictures are up in CD-Media.

Here's a picture I got of the shuttle as it flew in over aviation boulevard. It looks like 399 had their 'bot out on the runway too, awesome!

snagged a shot right off the beach in Playa del rey. We got to see all the passes from the beach.. plus lounge out in the sand! This was our closest view as it passed LAX the first time. (resized for file limits... probably will link to full version after work)

These photos are AMAZING. You guys are so lucky that you got to see it that close and personal!

And found these photos from 399 on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...99479&type= 1

(One of them may be my new desktop background because WOW).

I was at the Imperial Ave Hill, overlooking the runway.

My team and I were lucky enough to see it from our school :) We are very close to the Getty center so we saw it circle a few times during lunch, it was really cool. Thank you NASA for this amazing opportunity, the shuttles will be missed.

Last year's robot,X-1, watched the takeoff of the SCA and Endeavour and hung out with aircraft at NASA Dryden. The shuttle directly flew over the Lancaster High School, home of Team 399.

Here are two shots I took from right next to the runway at NASA Ames this morning. The second highlights the skeleton of Hangar One
