Re: River Rage 16
YES! Let the Rage begin! 1058 is reviving the Gravity Gun for her last stand!
Any talk about rule changes? I think it would be cool to see IRI bridge rules :D |
Re: River Rage 16
How accurate is this list? My team (78) has an email confirmation from Ed back in early August for attending RR16, but we aren't on your list below.

I'll check with Ed, he might have sent me an outdated list. Don't worry if he sent a confirmation you're in.

Re: River Rage 16
Are we going to pulling from the great pumpkin again this year for elimination picking? And what are the specifics for that? (which round would it be for? Can we pick from the top 8?)

A quick "let me google that for you": http://www.riverrage.org/game.htm In other words, you "can" pick in the top 8, if you're luck enough! |

Re: River Rage 16
Wow, is team 2048 really coming to River Rage from Detroit??

Re: River Rage 16
I'm guessing 2048 is a second robot for 2648. I believe they've used that number in the past for a second robot.

Re: River Rage 16
BUZZ 175 will not be there. We never planned on attending this year but one of our now departed Seniors must have assumed!!!

Anyone want to do a shirt swap at RR?

Re: River Rage 16
This just in....there will be a NEMO meeting at RR 16! From 10:00- 11:00 in <insert room number here when I get it>
You asked for it.....you will get it! Lynne Henry, a long time NEM from Rosie Robotics, (and my wife) will be hosting the NEMO meeting. What is NEMO you ask? the Non Engineering Mentors Org is a group of NEMs that offer support, ideas for fundraisers, booking team travel, white papers on just about everything and anything that is not directly robot related. (although Lynne and one other Rosie NEM have taken up learning CREO) For more info on NEMO, go to www.firstnemo.org. |
Re: River Rage 16
Best of luck to all the teams!

HELLOOOooooo::safety::
You can start the countdown NOW for the tough competition this year at RR16. This is the OLDEST FIRST off season event in the WORLD. Good LUCK TO ALL of the great teams in the North East. This was one of my fun events back in the day TYE DYE oh yeah ???? OH YEAH !!!!!::rtm:: MOE |
Re: River Rage 16
Carol McShane from Rogue Robotics (Team 3585) and I will be hosting a roundtable on the FIRST/4-H partnership at lunchtime. We'll give you a brief rundown on the different aspects about the partnership and how we've benefited from it. If you've got questions on what it's like to be 4-H club, how our experiences have been or if you just want to run by to grab some handouts on your way to the pits, stop by!
See you then! Trying to Help |

Re: River Rage 16
Thanks to the people of the Manchester High Schools for putting on another great River Rage! It ran so smoothly and was a lot of fun. It was great to give this year's students some valuable experience.
P.S. 2048 turned out to be 2084, Robotics By The C, from Manchester MA. |
Re: River Rage 16
Even though 1729 didn't compete three of us came for a portion of the day. I have to say that I had a terrific time! In three hours or so I learned a ton of information (Thank you Lynne for the NEMO meeting!) from other mentors and FIRST volunteers.

Re: River Rage 16
Just want to day a huge thank you for the Manchester robotics teams for running this event. It was the most fun I've had in a while, and congratulations to teams 3467, 166, and 1519 for winning!
|
Re: River Rage 16
Agreed. This was a great competition. Thanks to the Manchester teams for hosting this great event!
|
Re: River Rage 16
Hello everyone, I was going to post sooner but then the hurricane happened...
This competition went great and even managed to end early! I want to thank 1519 and 3467 for being such great alliance partners, and I also wanted to share a couple of pictures. ![]() and after I took that I noticed that in the final match a bearing had worked its way out of its mounting plate on our shooter! ![]() And if you are wondering, the only damage we incurred from falling from the bridge was a cracked lexan hood and a slightly bent piece of metal. |
Re: River Rage 16
Thank you to the Manchester teams for hosting another amazing event and all of the volunteers who made this happen! River Rage is always one of the best off-seasons both in how it is run and its competitiveness!
Thank you to teams 166 and 1519! We couldn't have asked for better partners with solid autonomous, balancing, scoring, feeding, defense, and teamwork. It was great to finally play with 1519 it seems like in the past two years we have always been against but never with you in eliminations! ;) Congratulations to the finalists 125, 2648, 78, & 88! You guys were a very tuff alliance throughout the tournament! As a team it was a great event to give new students experience from scouting to mechanical. Our robot faired well but our arm broke during our third qualification match and was repaired by our second elimination match. The repair lasted us two matches before becoming too much to fix in a timeout leaving us to defense and balancing. The cause was the plate that held the arm motor starting becoming two pieces causing the chain to lose tension resulting in no arm movement! :( The team pulled through well and our drivers changed our strategy perfectly! Thank you to all the teams for a great 2012 season we look forward to compete with most of you in 2013 at GSR, Pine Tree, and hopefully CMP! See you around New England! |

We wanted to thank our partners for working so well together. We picked team 2648 at the Boston Regional in 2011 and were Finalists, and we picked team 78 at the 2012 Boston Regional and were again Finalists. It was awesome to be able to pair up with both of them again. Thanks to TJ as well for stepping in after 78's drive experienced some issues. The last match of the finals was our 103rd match of the year, an all-time high for the NUTRONs. It was great to play with all our New England friends one last time in 2012, we'll see you all in 2013! -Brando |
