woo hoo!
I rigged up brief Internet access using an old wornout robot battery.
We plan to tap in occasionally to check the storms progress and keep in touch.

Large oaks dropped right and left of me, in addition to the ones I've lost.

Been without power for 5 hours.
Dinner by candlelight was romantic with the storm tossing trees by the window.

Here is to a quick recovery. When Ike came through Cincy, we were without power for 3 days. Nothing compared to our southern friends, but for a place not used to seeing hurricane force winds, that was a long time.

Checking in from Massachusetts.

We still have power, all the schools have been closed today. I did think we were going to lose power earlier because the cable went out for a minute, but its still on!

Lots of wind and some rain though.

Lost a tree in our yard, but it didn't fall anywhere near the house (we have a big backyard).

All of y'all, stay safe.

I had to grab someone to keep them from falling over while on campus today. Then my umbrella flew away and I had to catch it...

I have a lot of friends going to college on the east coast (like, right on the coast) so I hope their schools are not under water when they go back.

Rutgers experienced some flooding (saw a few pictures from friends) but I haven't seen the latest extent of the damage.

Effects are starting to be felt in Toronto, although not nearly as severe as the east coast.. Fallen over trees, power outages, and minor flooding. The worst is supposed to hit us at 2am. Unfortunately, a woman has already been killed by flying debris.

Back home in NJ has been without power all night. Up here at Clarkson, we're getting high winds and a little rain, but like our Canadian next-door neighbors, we won't get anything too crazy until late tonight. From what I'm reading now, two or three storm systems are supposed to converge right between Kingston, ON and Ogdensburg, NY. So we'll be in for a wallop when it gets here.

Stay safe, everyone. Check in when you can.

Here in Merrimack, NH we have no school today because only our high school has power, and at least 1/3 of our town has no power, as far as I know all of my friends lost power some time last night so I'm feeling pretty lucky to still have it!

I hope everyone is still safe and sound. Trees can be replaced, people can't.
Stay Safe.

You are all in my prayers and thoughts. We can feel some effects from the storm here in West Michigan, but nothing compared to what you guys have. Keep it safe folks.

~Calvin-
P.S. Wear those safty glasses too, we don't want any falling trees to poke your eye out.

We have no school today, either, but by and large it looks like Western New York away from Lake Ontario got inconvenienced, but little more. The lake shore got hammered, though... Last I'd heard they'd evacuated thousands due to 20-foot waves.

In northern CT we faired rathe well. Only lost a few trees near me and the State re-opened the highways at 9am. We were lucky and on had the power flicker a couple of times. Everyone at the office so far says they had similar situations.

So there, some of us visit Delaware regularly!

It helps that my future mother-in-law lives down by Bethany so I'm there 3 or 4 times a year.
