I was very impressed by teams 4452, 4749, and 4509. All three are rookie teams and have consistent robots that are performing very well. These teams have bright futures and hopefully can become powerhouses.

Expect good things from them.

She's at Peachtree, but as a lowly safety glasses volunteer, not a coach. ;) 624 is great about making sure that the drive team consists entirely of current students--so an entirely new batch of kids is driving/coaching this year.

Argh. Wish I'd checked this thread earlier. Now I won't have time to watch any 624 matches before I have to catch my flight back to the States.

1648 reporting in after the event.

For a historically weak event, some of those elimination scores were off the charts.

And talk about upsets. I believe it was the 7th seed facing off against the 5th seed. While it was unfortunate to see the greats fall (624, 2415, 1261), those finals were awesome.

Now for our thank yous:
- 281: You guys are an awesome defensive machine. Unfortunately we couldn't overcome our inconsistencies and power past semis, but let's not dwell on what could have been.

- 2415: Not much of a thank you, but I'm excited for your next event. Someone keep an eye on these guys. Here's to hoping that one year, you guys will have a fully functioning machine at P'tree.

- 624: You guys gave everyone at P'tree a good run for our money. Hopefully this won't deter you guys from paying us a visit in the future.

- 4509: It's an embodiment of the old 1771, and I can say that they seriously haven't lost a step.

- 4468: Taking home three awards in your rookie berth? Not fair at all. These guys are super stellar and I can see them taking home a chairmans in just a few years. Also, you guys were excellent neighbors.

- 1261: Talk about killing the gremlins. You guys were legit top 2-3 robots by the end of quals and it was truly unfortunate that you guys didn't take it all the way.

Pros of the event:
- It seemed much smoother than last year.
- Full practice field (AMAZING).
- Awesome referees.

Cons of the event:
- Seating
- Seating
- Seating

Oh, and did I mention seating?

In all honesty, when I can't reach the top of the stands because people are sitting in the stairs, that's a problem. The venue is excellent, but I'd consider a change simply to rectify this situation.

For now,
- Sunny G.

Great event. Despite finishing a bit short of what we intended, the team had a lot of fun and learned a lot. Congratulations to the winning alliance (4026, 4080, 3489). This alliance was clearly the most dominant. Consistent autonomous, full court shots, and consistent teleop scores allowed this alliance to power themselves to the winner's circle.

@281: Thank you for picking us. I know at first we were hesitant, but our alliance did extremely well and it was amazing to work with a defensive robot as strong as yours. Your team also worked very well in all of the strategies we came up with as an alliance.

@3581: Consistency was your nickname. Your team guaranteed a 4 point autonomous and 20 point climb every single match of eliminations. 281's scouts did a good job in finding you guys.

Some special shout-outs:

@624: Your robot was amazing and very inspiring. Talking with your students and mentors was also an enlightening experience. Your team has to have been one of the nicest I've met so far. The mentors and students were very nice to talk to and very enthusiastic.

@4509: I was pulling for you guys to win the finals. Your robot was very impressive, especially for a rookie team. You guys are definitely going to be a great veteran team next year.

@4452: A very good rookie team. We saw your performance at Palmetto in week 1 and knew you guys would improve by the time Peachtree came around. Very impressive run by such a solid rookie team. I'm excited to see this team turn into a strong veteran team.

Thank you to all of the volunteers for making the event as smooth as possible. We'll see you next year.

What an amazing performance from 4026, 4080 and 3489. They were clearly a dominant offensive power! We had a blast playing at Peachtree this year.

Team 1683 is proud to have stood with our alliance mates 4509 and 832.
Surely we "showed up" at the competition this year and answered the original question from this thread.

Too many Amazing teams along the way to begin mentioning but; great fun to watch. Can't wait to see you at Peachtree again next year! Good luck for the rest of the Ultimate Ascent season!

I posted the public links while the files were being uploaded. They should be okay, now.

Clear congrats to all of the teams at Peachtree, but especially to the great and wonderful Jan for running a great field, listening to all and making Solomon-like decisions.

I think another specific shout-out goes to Jeremy Roberts, as I am so happy for a guy who poured his heart into Peachtree and GAFIRST for so long, to walk away with the Championship.

Proud of my rookie kids on 4509, and here's something to intimidate folks: they're mostly 10th graders.

Another fabulous event by GA FIRST! Big kudos to Connie and all the volunteers that make the peachtree regional consistently one of the best. I am always inspired by what the kids do, and how they grow and learn, and that takes an enormous effort by a lot of people who never get enough recognition.

Congratulations to the winning alliance: 4026 3489 4080 It was an honor to play in the finals against you guys. I honestly didn't expect to see an effective full court shooter, but you guys had a great alliance.

Thanks to 1683 and 832, you guys were great!

Did anybody get any videos of elimination matches? If so, could you post them?

Thanks!

Re: 2013 Peachtree Regional

A big Thank You to all involved at Peachtree this week!

Our team's first time at Peachtree, and we had a great time. The facility was very good (more seats, please), and load-in on Wednesday night went smoothly.

4026 - Thanks for making us your first pick. There was quite a bit of consolodation among the top seeds, but your scouting allowed you to assemble what one judge I talked to at lunchtime called a "well-rounded alliance". I have to admit I was a little skeptical that a 7 seed would go all the way, but we pulled it off.

4080 - You guys had an awesome full court shooter that really had the crowd going when you were raining two point goals enroute to a Peachtree high of 151 points for our alliance.

624 - An amazing autonomous mode, just mind-blowing. Your shooter, both fast and accurate made you the clearly dominant team. It surprised us all when the gremlins (apparently) bit you, and knocked you off your game.

And, to our students, who persevered through a trying time at Palmetto, and worked dilligently to debug and improve our robot right through the eliminations matches. A big win for our 3rd year team, and the best 18th birthday present my son (and drive coach) could ever hope for :D

Good Luck to All, and see you in St. Louis!
